Ah yea, checking back in vol 3, it did go into 2nd shift. So theoretically, it should have stayed in 2nd shift form. The problem is, Silverio Gospel was sealed after that incident, so it's never been shown again whether it's still in the 2nd shift or not.

No, no, it wasn't shown again. In vol 6, phantom task tried to steal Silverio Gospel from the US base. You can read the translation on that part on baka-tsuki. Silverios Gospel itself is still sealed at the base, and Natasha, Gospel's pilot use Silver Bell, a handgun that can shoot wing type projectile like Gospel to hold of Madoka before the US representative arrives.

Just read vol.7, first time here. A few thoughts, in no particular order:
Byakushiki could be a Dual Core (tm) machine. There's more to Orimura's family secret (personal theory, the siblings were both/all born from the lab. Chifuyu was the first gen, Ichika (a mistake) was the 2nd gen. Same goes for the Shinonono's and every harem character whose parents mysteriously parted.) The IS aptitude is like the Synchro Ratio or innate IQ or sort, just some convenient gauge for the light novel to describe innate IS talent. Of course even talents needs practicing, and not just some simu-peer-battle but some good ol' outside interference, which happens every time Ichika suits up. It's a running joke but probably not a coincidence. Houki did not jump up from C to S; she was probably S to begin with, and suppressed by Tabane for her own good. IS = TenchiBusterGelion with a sprinkle of Blade Runner(maybe) and a dash of Gundam(mecha), and I'm sure I'm still missing something. BTW could somebody make this the tvtrope's trope codifier of Unwanted Harem? Elvis may be King, but here comes the Beatles. I personally think vol.7 is the tightest and most interesting thus far, not that they're great literatures to begin with. The book is intertwined with the Big Sister Complex and foreshadows Ichika/Chifuyu, Houki/Tabane relationships down the line. The entire scene at the Gotanda restaurant is .... operatic. Would make a nice finale for Season 2. |

Personally, I would prefer Haruka Tomatsu as Tatenashi, she has the necessary vocal range for both the casual and serious tones. (and because haruka tomatsu and Kana makes an awesome pair of seiyuus)
