Worst animes that deserve to be used as frisbees

I'm chucking Shana II to the frisbee list. I'm just left unimpressed with the way it's directed.
Some parts of Full Metal Panic is also frisbee worthy. The battles are so full of cliches I found it rather painful to watch. Seems the producers watched too much Hollywood. The school/love comedy moments are top notch though!

Thats bothersome. I've been watching the ist season of SHana and I've loved it so far. I hope your opinion doesn't carry on over to me, because I'd be very upset if the 2nd Shana is really that bad.

It's not. I enjoy it a lot. It is a bit slower paced than season1, but trust me, it's worth it.

Things have been slow from the start of the season upwards to around episode 12, but episode 13 onwards got it back on track.

For purely fighting action, yes.

But it started to pick up story-wise around episode 7 (Ike planning a trip to the amusement park so he can impress Kazumi, funny like to Shana hot springs OVA), then the Margery 2-parter (fanservice, figthing and relationship advice for Oga-chan, Shana and Kazumi) which eventually leads into the current story arc.

Shana II was that bad, but then it's not anymore. I'm pretty sure it's going to be better marathoned instead of waiting for an episode per week.

Fillers of Bleach and Naruto should belong here...oh, and Shippuden should also belong here.

I can see that Shana certainly has good source material. I just can't stand Shana being next to useless in battles. It's most certainly been like this in Season 1 as well but Shana had a part in turning the tables in her favour at the end. In the two big battles right now, it was something else (1. Pheles being a clone. 2. Johan) turning the tables in the battle. Shana has never been much of a tactician but she looks extremely stupid this season.

It may simply be a personal thing but I did go "wow" in the Margery at New York battle but in the two Pheles arc battles, I was going "ooooooook"

We still don't know the relationship between Pheles and Wilhelmina thus the parting scene at the end lacked any substance or emotion when it should have been there.

What you described does not make Shana a bad show in any way though; she is not supposed to be the strongest thing out there, not by a long shot. That said, this pathetic excuse of a sequel has been largely worthless thus far, not to mention requiring an inconsistency towards season 1 to function. That said, things look to be finally picking up in the right direction, but the first half of second season has been largely a failure if it actually intended to do anything useful with the story. Not the wort thing ever, but a long shot from being good.

Shana II is far from frisbee material, or at least the most recent episodes shape it up to be. If you want some nice frisbees produced by J.C. Staff, you'll have to get the DVDs for Zero no Tsukaima: Futatski no Kishi. What a disgrace compared to the awesome first season.

Specifically, I'd have to say the last 2 episodes, 14 and 15. Of course this is opinion only, but I believe that they finally managed to capture the same feeling that I got when watching season 1. A feeling that all the previous season 2 episodes (barring the Margery Daw side-arc) could not instill into me.

As for Shana, her relative uselessness just got me. For me a show needs a decently strong lead and Shana hasn't been given a chance by J.C. Staff to show her strength in the Pheles arc.

The relatively messy and unrefined story and the stalled love triangle's also made me feel devoid of emotion. Other than Oga-chan getting "killed" and Tanaka's reaction, the show has failed me move me emotionally. I see characters but I cannot get my emotions in sync. A good show will sync the viewers' emotions with the characters.

Although Shana 2 isn't the worst show out there (although it's the worst show I've seen in the past 3 months), my personal dissatisfaction and dissapointment makes it end up in my personal frisbee list.

On a completely unrelated topic... I wish that some anime company would build an online model similar to itunes. I'd love to pay for anime rentals or downloads.... a nice collection of anime and japanese music and pop. Hmph Maybe it's just me, but I think there'd be a nice consumer base for something like that.

I completely disagree. I just finished the last episode of that series, and I think it was FAR better than the first. Maybe not comedy-wise, but compared to the first season, Futatsuki no Kishi has WAY better drama.

Seriously speaking, you can throw (frisbee) away the first half of the second shana season and still come away with the full picture.

This is one of those rare cases where I want my time back
