I'll be sad that it's so short (when Hetalia is involved, more is always better), but given the source material, it feels like full episodes wouldn't be possible. I wish they'd stretched each story to 10 minutes instead, though. Or make specials for the longer stories so they don't feel rushed..!

O_O noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!! It's not enough ;_;
I might be able to accept that if it's more than 5 minutes long each episode . . . . but 26??? I HOPE THEY THINK OF MAKING A SEQUEL/CONTINUATION/SPECIAL or something ;_;

How does a 5-minute episode work schedule-wise? Do they combine episodes to make a longer broadcast? Or are the weekly broadcasts really only 5 minutes long? Sounds like some sort of extended commercial break.

It's normally stuck at the end of something else, like Chi came after the news (or something like that).
It'll be airing at 25:52 on Sky PPV... no clue what else is on that chan, but it might be done after a weekly movie or something. But yeah, we'll have 26 weeks of 5-minute episodes

Picked up the second volume of the manga recently, was very happy to discover it had a better introduction to Belarus and Ukraine. Still waiting on Belgium, though.
The character page has a lot of new designs up. No Hungary yet? Not faaair.

Ok, I have been surfing on Myanimelist, then I saw the "Hungarian Fans" Club. While I'm a hungarian, somehow I never wanted to check it out; I'm not -really- in love with my nation. Ok. Club relations.... what the... trailer? What's this shoujo sh- OMFGWTFBBQ?????????
I shat brix. I'll check this out. Even if it's very shoujo-ish. |

I only saw a few strips with him. For some reason he's good friends with Japan (I can't find a historical basis behind it) and has a hilarious love/hate relationship with Turkey, who is an older guy in a "Phantom of the Opera"-ish mask. The Greece/Turkey relationship is kind of hilarious because they always seem like roommates who hate each other but have to tolerate each other's existence, at least on Turkey's part . Greece usually acts like a senior high schooler on spring break, he doesn't give his buddy a break and likes to give Turkey a hard time. In one strip, when Japan was showing Greece how to make a wish at a temple Greece did the ritual and then asked Japan if he could wish "Die Turkey" now. Yet in another strip, when pervert France wanted to take Turkey's mask away Greece intercepted him. All in all, he's a cool character, and IMO in some ways the most handsome of them all.
Oh, forgot to mention, he also has a thing for cats. He's usually drawn holding a kitten in his arms. It's rather cute. ^_^ Now if I could understand why in some of the strips he is portrayed as a little (adorable!) kid... Isn't Greece one of the oldest countries in the world? |
