They're the only ones that actually acts like one after getting together. Cagalli and Athrun keep fighting and things getting in the way, Kira and Lacus refuse to kiss let alone share the same bed. Guess that means Lacus is just the girl Kira settled with since Fllay died. So yeah, that statement seems to hold true.

Though it may also be from how the VA's interacted with each other since they did eventually get married. So I'm sure there was a lot of chemistry between them while they were working on Destiny as Shinn and Lunamaria.

No, Athrun x Cagalli took a huge hit in Destiny and the fanbase fragmented to Athrun x Cagalli, Athrun x Lunamaria, Athrun x Meer, Athrun x Luna's sister, Athrun x Hawke Sisters, Athrun x Rey, Athrun x Shinn, and Athrun x Kira x Shinn x Shinn.

Kira and Lacus are still popular despite how detached their relationship appears. They haven't even been shown to kiss or sleep in the same bed. Even Shinn x Lunamaria and Athrun x Cagalli got their kiss scenes which the fans adored. I'm sure if they actually showed more relationship stuff between Kira and Lacus they would be even more popular.

Last time I check Kira and Lacus = ideal japanese couple...
(old japan = they only kiss after marriage.)

That why they are so popular in japan and since when > no kiss > unpopular?

The ideal Japanese couple actually shows that they're a couple. Lacus seems like the girl he settled with but doesn't want to touch. While he took Fllay to town and back multiple times.

Showing them act like a couple would make them more popular, not showing them even show geniune affection towards each other as a couple would hurts their standing. They seem more like really close friends than a couple, especially compared to Shinn x Lunamaria or Athrun x Cagalli even if Athrun has issues when it involves being with his girl.


Anyway, since Mwu got the Perfect Strike it deems reasonable that Lunamaria will get the Destiny Impulse before Destiny is over if they do an HD remake.

Didn’t they scrap Destiny Impulse the moment they finish developing Destiny Gundam? Still, seeing Destiny Impulse animated will be interesting. There are three units of those, right? Red, Blue, and Purple IIRC.

I wonder how they are going to have Mwu sacrifice himself to save the Archangel. The Perfect Strike doesn't have a shield so how will it stand against the Lohengrin long enough to protect the Archangel from it?

If they do an HD Remaster of Destiny, they should do new eyecatches; instead of just Kira and Lacus, they should also do Athrun and Cagalli (possibly to be later replaced by Athrun and Meyrin), and Shinn and Stellar (later to be replaced by Shinn and Luna), while also keeping the "day and night" theme.

Yes, she was. Like I mentioned before, Cagalli cried even on the very first episode of SEED over Orb and her father.

It amazes me that people think it's out of character for her to cry helplessly in Destiny when Cagalli has always been weak over Orb.

I guess they forgot that she actually tried talking both times she interfered. The fact is, she was never going to willingly fight her fellow citizens. By the time she was in Akatsuki, she was defending Orb against ZAFT.

Eyecatches? Seems like cheap fanservice since Shinn never loved Stella in that way, she was supposed to represent the dead sister he couldn't save. There was never anything romantic or sexual between them, it was just pure family-like love.

Don't think that'll work since the top dog said that Athrun was supposed to get back with Cagalli in the end. If anything they should just change that part so fans know this without the top dog having to explain things. So having eyecatches with Athrun and the girl that will never win seems a bit harsh to the fanbase.

Which didn't last long since she handed over her dads treasure to Mwu the moment she could. I'm sure that tease angered many fans who thought Cagalli was finally going to do things again.

Not true, they're about the same popularity with the Shinn x Lunamaria VA marriage making them even more popular. That cannot be said of the Kira x Lacus couple that not only didn't act like a couple in the series but the VA's felt nothing for each other. Thus the statement made by Fukuda that Shinn x Lunamaria was the only couple of true love or whatever was spot on considering how things ended up.

They don't even hug. So yes, as far as the series portrayed them they ere not a couple just really close friends. Kira and Fllay were a couple, they showed far more emotion and care for each other in one scene than anything Kira x Lacus has shown. If anything they should have killed Lacus(no loss there) and kept Fllay alive after she accepted that she loved Kira and her hate was irrational. Would have made a much better wife than Lacus ever would considering she doesn't even treat Kira as her beloved. They can't even hold hands!

Relationships between voice actors do not add anything to the relationships between their characters.

Sadly, those Kira-Flay scenes are about Flay manipulating Kira. It wasn't until Kira left that Flay started to change.

Compare that to all the other couples, compare it to Kira and Fllay's interactions.

That isn't enough. Kira has done much more couple things with Athrun than just Lacus resting her head on her friends shoulder. If anything Kira x Athrun has more grounds than Lacus anything with how emotionless she is with anyone. Atleast with those two guys you can tell that they love and care for each other.
