Ahhhhh!!!! This series puts me into despair! They introduced yet another awesome character, and guess what? He gets killed! Awesome characters on the protagonist's side don't seem to last long. However, as long as they don't do anything awful to my Qiang Lei, I think I can bare with it.

Speaking of which, my favorite part in this episode was when Qiang Lei called Xin an "idiot", and it was deservedly so. She is just so great! I do wonder how much her looks will change when she grows older. Eventually, they will reach the 5 year mark, and I'll hope her character design will become even more beautiful.

Oh, so what is the next rank for Xin after 300 men? 500 men or 1000 men general?

It look like because Shin cut that scam in last city = in this city no one try to lot/kill/rape/slave anyone
but it really suck to see someone who show some respect to shin only to get killed in next scene...

by the way, why anime used general for 100, 300, 1000= commander?

This was a great episode, I agree that Qiang Lei's reaction to Xin's bravado was priceless.

The preview for the next episode looks awesome because Xin will be facing off against an important enemy for the first time in a while.

Who is the caped/armored guy in the middle of the Feixin force in the new ending (one of the last stills they show)??

What happened to Qiang Lei this episode? She suddenly and conveniently disappeared? I'm sure she would have felt the presence of that general as well as Xin, and it would have helped Xin a lot if she was there to fight as well. That was very odd story telling, to say the least.

I'm glad the General raised Xin from a 300 men general to 1000 men general. It shows his sharp eye for gifted men in his army disregarding nobility as main basis for promotion.

Genghis Khan did the same thing in choosing his captains ad generals, not by blood but of ability and skills in combat. These what made his army strong and unmatched by their enemies.

This is one of my favorite anime of all time and I've seen a lot over the years. It just keeps getting better...

I really hope Xin gets a nice kill count of enemy generals.

Not sure how this upcoming battle will end given that some elements are already different from our historical record...

the larger your Army is....
the slower you move.....

IMO.....

if Xin wants to take out Lian Po, he'll have to take a 300 man squad again, he won't be able to move quickly with all those troops.

aaaahhh we will wait and see.....

These cliff hangers are killing me, every episode something intense happens and now I have to wait another WHOLE WEEK!!.

I really want to see his fight with Lian Po since it was shown in the opening, its gonna be INTENSE!!!

this is undoubtedly one of the best anime it though highly underated plus they have really improved the graphics for season 2. the manga is a different story the art is just supperb and i have to say almost better than the big 3.

So I'm guessing after this arc, Qiang Lei will move on to her revenge.

Considering how mysterious they made the 2 vice generals of the Qin Army, I'm guessing they are going to be major names in history. Meng Ao might come out victorious because of these vice generals. If my predictions are correct, then one of these vice generals might be one of the 4 greatest generals in the Warring States Period. Btw, Lian Po and Li Mu are also 2 of the greatest 4 generals in the Warring States Period.

Also, I noticed Qiang Lei pushing Xin away when he hugged her shoulder. I wonder why?

Yeah, he found out in season one after the first war, but I don't think he told his men. He still thinks Diao's male, though.

Anyways, at the risk of sounding like a broken record; the more I watch this show, the more I realize it is on my short list of best anime of all time. Really such a shame it isn't more widely viewed. I really think it would appeal to people who enjoy historical fiction and the much larger group of action/adventure anime fans.

So episode 18 brought back some memories of the bad CGI of the first season. Let's hope it is short lived. They've introduced the 2 vice generals, which is expected on who they really are.

Qiang Lei at least showed up in the recap at the beginning. At least the anime team knows what sells in this series. I'm happy she'll be in full force for the next episode, which I can't wait.

They've ended the episode in quite a cliffhanger. I don't expect Wang Ben to win, but I don't expect Lun Hu to die neither. My best guess is that something will interfere with the fight, and that something will probably be the Fei Xin unit. I expect great things from Xin in this battle, and Qiang Lei as well.

Glad the clash started. I was afraid that for big battles like these the bad cgi would return and it did. Well let's hope the one on one battles will be ok. At this point i'm guessing this battle will take up the rest of the season.
