Looks a cracking season ^_^.

Chaos;Head - Don't know too much about this series but after reading the blurb it sounds a go0d concept

ef - a tale of melodies - Liked the first series, will watch with high expectations.

Ga-Rei -Zero- This is also promising and am really looking forward to this after reading part of the manga

Kannagi - Sounds harmless and fun

Kemeko Deluxe! - Sounds like its a story thats been done a million times. However I'm interested by picture of the series on the anidb site so am going to check it out

Kidou Senshi Gundam 00 2nd Season - Will get round to watching it after I have watched the first season as its been recommended to me.

Kurogane no Linebarrel - Sounds weird but like the character designs

Rosario to Vampire Capu2 - Just because I watched the first series.

Tales of the Abyss - Will check this out just because the main guy looks cool and because one of the females reminds me of Balsa

Tytania - will give it a go although the story does not sound too promising

Yozakura Quartet - Seems easy going enough to check out

Thats 11 series I'm definately checking out but depending on what other people are thinking of other series after a few episodes have aired I might check out some more but none of the others seem to really catch my interest. Just hope that my expectations of this season are lived up to.

Hmmm, doesn't look like I'll be actively following more than a handful, but that could change as always...
Well.... pbffft, yes I'll watch.
Definitely download.... but unsure when I'll watch.
Hmmmm, lands on my first tier watch list for no apparent reason.
I'm so predictable..... must watch.
... I loved the first season, but ..... o well, I'm sure fans are pleased.
I'll pass on it.
Hmmmmm, probationary watch - I may be getting tired of the
violent ubercute design motif.
Strange art style for shounen, strange plot synopsis for shounen.
I suppose I must probationary look simply because of the mixed signals.
No idea what to think of this project.... probationary looksee.
The character designs look like they'd rot your teeth... probationary look.
Racing mania (gogo Speed) continues with odd things... probably pass.
This seems worth a probationary look if only for the novelty?
-blink-blink- hmmm, pass.
Will definitely download it - but may wait til holidays to watch in a arathon. No idea. Pass.
Possible fan service guilty pleasure.... the plot sounds rather meh.
Probationary watch.
Ouch.... the descriptions caused wincing, but people seem excited.
Will check out if other series fall off my list. Probationary
Okay.... this looks weird just because a collision of Disney culture and
Japanese culture makes my brain twitch. Might take a look if other
series fall off my list. Probationary
Hmmmm, seinen.... but material just looks kind of meh so far. Pass
Bad sign when the homepage doesn't even show the harem protagonist.
Skipping. School comedy, check in for quirk factor, character designs catch my eye
Probationary
Looks too serious for my tastes at the moment but I may catch the 1st ep.
Probationary
probationary looksee

Any I've not mentioned are either deeply seriously skipped (:P) or I've not researched yet.

Well from my very preliminarily standings, this will be my list. A good review or two can really change things.

Definite - no matter how much of a train wreak, i will finish
- Clannad ~After Story~
- Vampire Knight Guilty
- Mobile Suit Gundam 00 Second Season

maybe - gave me a good first impression, but will need a few eps to decide weather to finish or not
- Akane-iro ni Somaru Saka
- Chäos;HEAd
- ef - a tale of melodies : loved the first season, so will be down to first few eps and time restraints
- Ga-Rei -Zero- :is this a sequel? if so im not going to be watching it
- Kuro Kami
- Mouryou no Hako :i`ll probably pick up this or chaos head, whichever is more interesting
- Shikabane Hime: Aka

Unlikely - these are animes i highly doubt i will follow, but still have a shot
-Kannagi
-Rosario to Vampire Capu2 : first season ended weak so...
-Tales of the Abyss: not too confident in game adaptations

the rest are completely unknown to me or dont look very interesting. will take a strong referral to watch

Wow. This list has me less interested than the Winter list did. There's maybe two shows I actually think could be interesting...the rest are just *yawn*. Oh well, guess it's a good thing since there are a few shows to catch up on from my list. Maybe there will be some diamonds in the rough for this season that could be added to it.

Clannad After Story - something major is about to happen. I am sure of it.
ef a tale of melodies - I was astounded by the first season. Don't know what to expect though.
Toradora! - should be fun
Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka - this one could have some fine developments, girls look good, and great seiyuus
To Aru Majutsu no Index - not sure about watching this yet
Chaos;Head - I found about it just recently, but I love this genre.

Eh, I forgot this thread was going to come up sooner or later. This article summarizes my picks of the season.

Blogging for the Season

Like, was there ever any doubt I'm picking this up? It's the Best of Key meets KyoAni-class Adaptation, after all.

I don't really care if Kasai is still directing this or not, it's still more Nodame Cantabile! Looking forward to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D.

CLANNAD's dark horse rival of Fall 2007 returns to do battle with it again in Fall 2008. No way I'm missing out on blogging it this time.

Definitely Watching

GONZO's last stand. Definitely don't want to miss it. Will it be bust or revival?

Usually not my thing....but I've heard too much good about it to just pass it up like that.

It's Gundam. Almost everyone watches Gundam just because. Besides, following Sunrise mecha these days is sure to net one a weekly quota of lulz from external sources, if you know what I mean.

Maybe watching

Overshadowed as a VN adaptation by CLANNAD AS and ef ~melodies~, but does have Hirano Aya and Kugimiya Rie in leading roles. I'll give this a few episodes to see whether it becomes a dark horse.

Directed by Yamakan and other ex-KyoAni staff? Sure, why not? It has potential as a dark horse candidate, I'll give it a few episodes as well.

Not THAT interested to be honest....just enough for a couple of episodes to see if it's any good. Likely to be dropped further down the line.

Heard lots of good things about it, might give it several episodes.

One or two episodes. Also likely to be dropped further down.

Not my thing at all, but again, heard too much good circulating around it.

Autumn 2008 season, discussion

Seeing as the Autumn 2008 season is almost upon us, I suppose it might be a good time to start talking about it, what are you all looking forward to and why? And once the season actually starts, we can start evaluating the season as a whole, I'll start with the stuff I'm looking forward to.

I'm taking show titles from the T.H.A.T Anime blogs preview, if that matters:

1. Tytania, I hadn't any particular thoughts on this one till I recently started to watch Legend of the Galactic Heroes, now I'm looking forward to it, they're both based on books by the same author

2. Nodame Cantabile Paris-hen, I watched Nodame Cantibile Season 1 and liked it, not much more to say.

3. Stitch!, More out of curiosity then anything else, having never seen the movie, probably won't be good, but the first episode should be interesting.

4. Gundam 00 Second Season, I like Mecha, so this is a must watch.

5. Michiko To Hatchin, animated by Manglobe (Samuria Champloo) and I'm getting cool vibes, could be very good. Or not.

6. Shikabane Hime: Aka, Animated by Gainax, so it could turn out awesome, and it seems to have a decent premise. However this could be a bad Gainax show (of which there's been a few) certainly worth checking out.

7. Kurogane no Linebarrel, Gonzo, may watch to see a trainwreck unfurl before me, I missed out on Dragonaut.

8. Ef ~A tale of melodies~, I watched and sorta liked the first Ef, so this could be quite good.

9. Bihada Ichizoku, a show about Makeup? I'll watch it just because the concept was made to sell makeup, honestly, only in Anime. This could turn out corny, boring, bad, or all of that, so I'll be watching with my eyes half closed.

There are several other titles which could be good, but they all seemed blandish to me, whether they're good or not would purely depend on execution. Also there looks to be a lot more new franchises here, whereas last season was dominated more by sequels and iterations of franchises.

Well I can't say that this Fall line up is exciting me, It does look better then the summer which I finished zero titles.

TV
Am excited about:
Nodame Cantabile: Paris Chapter
Tytania: same writer, director, and company as Legend of Galactic empires, I'm in.
Will Watch
Ga-Rei: Zero: I have a feeling that I will not finish the series but I'm going to give it a look.
Mouryou no Hako: Murder, mystery, the supernatural and made by Madhouse sounds like a good combination.
OVA
Am excited about:
Mobile Suit Gundam MS IGLOO 2 Gravity Of The Battlefront
Will Watch
Goku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: The second season of the show kinda fell off, I'm hoping that this does not continue the trend.

Movies
Will Watch
Resident Evil: Degeneration: Its a video game movie whose live action counter parts were not vomit generating.

This is the first series that has actually caught my attention other than Nodame Pari-Hen. Sounds like a serious dark story with mature characters which puts it in my must-watch category. Too bad we still don't know who the seiyuu are, and it airs in just a couple of weeks. Browsing the entry at ANN shows a number of senior staff members with excellent past credits. The screenwriter also wrote Boogiepop Phantom and Millennium Actress among other well-regarded shows.

The series there seems to have pretty sadistic content. I'm aboard for some episodes.

I have 17 series that I want to watch, which is about three time the usual amount. Even though I'll probably drop about half of them, it's still going to be a busy season.

Sequels - Top Priority:
  • CLANNAD: After Story - I'm a Kagikko, so I wouldn't miss this for the world.
  • ef ~ a tale of melodies - Sequel to my favorite 2007 anime? I'm there!
  • Gundam 00: 2nd Season - Even though I'm not a huge mecha fan, I love Gundam.
  • Shugo Chara!! Doki - Must have my magical girl fix! COOLxSPICY FTW!

Will Watch:
  • Akane Iro ni Somaru Saka - I'm a sucker for eroge adaptions.
  • ChaoS; HEAd - The premise sounds cool, and it's adapted from a Nitro+ title.
  • Hakushaku to Yousei - Helping fill my shoujo quota for the season.
  • Tale of the Abyss - Based on one of my favorite games.

Will Try:
  • Hyakko
  • Kannagi
  • Kuroshituzi
  • Skip Beat!
  • To Aru Majutsu no Index
  • Today in Class 5-2
  • ToraDora
  • Tytania
  • Zettai Yareru Grecia Shinwa

I'm all about Tytania this season. After I watched the first 30 episodes of LoGH (Yeah, I am slow, I know) and see another Tanaka novel animated can only bring a smile in my face. The staff looks awesome and the trailers don't look that bad (Can't judge stuff based just in the Animation, especially when is LoGH-ish).

After that one, Gundam 00 second season is obvious since I loved the first one. The same with Ef - a tale of melodies and Clannad After Story.

Other stuff I want to watch: Casshern Sins, Hokuto no Hen Raoh Gaiden, Chaos;Head (loved the game) Kurogane no Linebarrel, Nodame Cantabile Paris Hen, Shikabane Hime Aka, and Toradora!

Also stuff like Today in Class 5-2, Akaneiiro Ni somaru saka, Ga-rei zero, Michiko to Hatchin and Kannagi can be that bad, So I'll look onto them.

This seasons looks so promising, I hope it can deliver.
