I'd heard about this anime, and just recently started watching it and I have to say, I wonder what took me so long! An excellent anime.

The ED has really grown on me, it has really nice instrumentation and a catchy melody. Makes me wonder if there is really going to be a happy ending.

Bah! That’s what Mahiro get for dedicating himself for revenge. Vengeance only brings pain and suffering anyway.

So, this series doesn’t sell well, huh? That’s too bad . Fortunately, it’s already slated for 24-26 episodes. There’s still plenty of episodes to go with anime-original plot like FMA (if they have to).

Btw, I think I’ve never seen giant plants fighting this epic since Godzilla vs. Biollante.

Yeah, the giant battling plants genre really is underutilized .

Which one of you offered the tree a wood chipper? Someone tell Hakaze that she can probably fix this by offering it some Christmas lights.

Ah, this one. I still can't wrap my finger around what they were aiming for when they drew that. Kinky root play? Sadistic!

It's Japanese new years, not christmas, and spear-guy doesn't look like he particularly minds being tied up with the other two.

As much as I love Yoshino and Mashiro, I have to admit that a small part of me kinda wished they died since it would have been a terrific blow, even more than what A Song of Ice and Fire did. I'm relatively confident that this series can continue to be as spectacular as it has been. If there is one gripe I have with the series, it's that the show is so immersed with the characters that little is paid to the background. It would be nice if there was more perspective to the innocent bystanders who are suffering from all this and are confused about what's happening once in a while so we get a better sense of scale that these events bring and what's at stake. The drama just feels slightly too insular for something that concerns the fate of the entire world. But then again, I have no idea if Shakespeare's plays did this...

It's cool that show is awesome even with out straight villains.
I mean there are no clear evil characters, that makes the show even more entertaining.

I realize, I'm a veritable old man these days (though still young and spry compared to the Seij), but I think it's kind of sad to hear that Shakespeare isn't mandatory reading for kids these days while in school.

To answer the question, broadly...yes.

I'll go a little further, and say that background perspectives on innocents, etc, (and to some extent, the fate of the world), aren't really what the show (emphasis on show, not story) is about, imo.

It was when I was at school, but I only read Macbeth and that was over seven years ago so I don't remember much of the finer details. XP

I wasn't really all that interested in doing so before this anime, but damn if I don't feel the urge to start reading Hamlet and Tempest thanks to this show...

One thing though, shouldn't Samon remove the stick from Mahiro's chest before healing him?

Magic. Also, if he tried, he might kill Mahiro outright, and they can't resurrect people.
