Based on what? Even if you could lay out all the statistics after a year long case study and could prove it at the 90% confidence interval, it would still be a stereotype.

So you won't trust national census data either? The stats are from major distributors of "stuff", not census level but pretty representative. This forum isn't really the place for such discussion so just take it with the usual "Lies, damned lies and statistics" bucket of salt.

He didn't look all that interested in Sekai before the "training" began either. If Otome lets Makoto use her I don't see why he would hold himself back. He already cheats on one girl after all,why not cheat on another? Does cheating on your mistress count as cheating anyway?

Otome isn't a bitch, she do that to Katsura-san becouse she though Sekai was Makoto's girlfriend and Katsura-san was cheating with Makoto.

Makoto really have to finish this with Katsura-san, she's wanting do die. Sekai is depressed, but he's getting his sex so he don't mind how about Sekai and Kotonoha.

(The point I was trying to make is that you can't prove anything based on a stereotype - and the ones being labelled under a stereotype, but don't fit that stereotype would be very offended)

As for Makoto and Otome ... I am not convinced yet that Makoto ONLY likes Sekai for her body and hence would cheat on her with Otome in an instant. He has said "suki" to Sekai at least twice by now, and admittedly the first time was a sweet moment (under the rain is kinda romantic).

I'm willing to give Makoto the benefit of the doubt till he completely dumps Sekai and starts having flings with other girls.

However I am sort of expecting a Kotonoha come-back, and can't wait to see how the writers pull it off

Heh, actually, I know Makoto is a selfish clueless jerk, and I know Sekai is irresponsible etc etc... (where would be the drama, if those characters were perfect anyway?) but the only ones I hate right now are Otome and her gang.

Seriously, they're bullying Kotonoha just because of her personality (way before the Makoto thing), and the way the anime depicts them, it looks like they could use humiliation or violence on her, which is way worse than what Makoto is doing (at least, for now ).

@Aceywacey, I agree, up to this point, it seems Makoto truly care for Sekai (making breakfast for her, ignoring Kotonoha instead of using her too, etc). But I guess it won't last long

Stereotype is when you are just making things up with nothing to back it up though, at least I got something solid.

I don't think Makoto going after Otome can end well, compared to the other 2 she has a gang of girls to back her up (Koto has no one, Sekai only have Setsuna who is only observing at this point) and I doubt they will stand by and just watch if Makoto try the same thing on Otome as he did Kotonoha.

omg...the last ep i saw.....damn...now there on the roof again and then they kiss and while his girlfriend is sticking up for herself and is starting to come out of her shell now this happon'es.....hes confused and is starting to like his friend more then his girlfriend cause she would do it with him..and his current girlfriend was going up in steps b4 that....now she see's them while she's on the train and noiw shes just seen them on the roof she says she likes him and his girlfriend heres it i wonder what she may do i hope she doesn't do something drastic...i mean she loves him and now he is cheating on her and now she gets the news hes cheating on her and i wonder how she is going to cope with it....i really cant w8 to see the next ep so much..i hope she really does try to take him back or something instead of running away and thinking its not real and denying it or something like that and ends up going into a depression or something and all that but i guess ill just have to w8 and see but damn.....i can barely w8...

Information based on specific audience is biased at best, and it is 100% stereotyping if you want to apply those results to every Japanese male out there (stereotyping on a national level at that). if makoto went over to otome just like that then it would be his fate sealed...sekai would tag team with kotonoha to make sure that the slug never existed in the first place
on serious matters i cant see otome as an active rival given the current situations ~ not until makoto gets bored with sekai will he start to treat her like crap and theres always kotonoha to fall back onto (and looking at the length of the series for otome to become active it seems even more unlikely...)

I don't see Otome actually making a play for Makoto. I think they only introduced her motivations so it makes sense when she starts going after Kotonoha later.

Right now, the only person I can feel any sympathy for in the show is Kotonoha. I really don't like Otome, at the moment I dislike Sekai, and Makoto's just a scumbag.

I feel in the same way, they're bullying Kotonoha becouse of her personality, but I can't call her a bitch becouse of that. Plus, I think that type of thing make Kotonoha to be more stronger and don't leave they to do that. But anyways, I hate that type of person (Otome and her gang, I mean).

You summed it up well. Personally, I think Sekai is also a bitch and Kotonoha is the only innocent one. I kinda hope he and Otome get offed but Otome most likely will not. Oh well. I just think she's annoying. This is a discussion about Makoto however and i refuse to touch that topic with a 50 foot pole.

i think it was partly sekai's fault for giving in to makoto, but then she already liked him anyway, so she couldn't help it. MAKATO on the other hand, deserves to be castrated. he liked kotonoha, but when he realized he could go farther with sekai, he likes her instead, which makes me feel sorry for kotonoha because that just shows that makato doesn't like her for her, just for her body. also, he's totally selfish. he's probably the type that would abandon his wife and children when a hotter woman comes along.
