True to their word, nobody died. Even Head made it out alive, and he if anyone had it coming. But they really left us hanging at the end, "use your imagination to get what happened afterwards"

Wako does not exactly earn points for two-timing, either.

Star Driver was one hell of a ride. Fabulous. The journey was more enjoyable than the destination though.

Spoiler for Final Thoughts:

So, let's see. My predictions in former post:

1) Takuto would win. Duh. Not even supercharged King's Pillar is enough to beat him.
2) Head would loose badly. Duh. Like any fabulous villain, he has to pose with his sword in the air and give speeches rather than simply stabbing Wakko and realizing his dreams. I suppose it's fitting though, since virtually every single fight in this series was won by Takuto only due to the immense amount of fabulous grandstanding on the part of the Crux.
3) Glittering Crux would all join Takuto's Harem. Duh. We all know every single one of them has gone to bed for months dreaming of Takuto's young, supple body.
4) Sugato didn't join the Crux to grasp power. Duh. It's not like he was going to suddenly change everything about his character in the second to last episode. Naturally, Takuto has to one up him and choose to just destroy Samekh. Silly Sugato. He should have known even Samekh couldn't stand up to the plot armor and plot weapon that is Tauburn. Nevermind the plot hole that is Sugato actually fighting back when he could have simply stood still and let Tauburn beat him without a fight. And, no, if he was capable of putting Samekh back to sleep, I'm pretty sure he was in control of Samekh, so no "oh, but Samekh was in control, not Sugato" nonsense. It's ok, what's plot have over awesome final fight?

5) Sarina and VP would give some speech about how awesome Takuto is. Ok, I got this wrong. In fact, they weren't in it at all.
6) Trio lives on happily ever after. Duh. We knew this was going to happen as soon as we saw the previous generation's trio fail so badly.

Final thoughts: The series would have been about a thousand times better with less cybody fights and more character-building/school/etc time. I suppose there are some who enjoyed watching Tauburn use his ultimate super duper moves every episode to always beat the odds, but I personally found the best episodes to be those without any cybody fights, as they tended to be the most character/story driven. So, yes, I freely admit I only actually enjoyed like 3? 4? episodes.

Final verdict: B-. A C-level mediocre pacing/story pulled up by the always great Bones artwork and animation. I love Bones, and they are one of those studios who's shows I'll always watch on name recognition alone, but frankly, this was one of their more mediocre works (which is still admittedly better than most of the trash that is pumped out, but I have higher standards for Bones). Though with their last two works beside Star Driver being Heroman and Gosick, I am starting to wonder if this isn't just a slump but a portent of where the studio is headed.

- Keito was just deluded and crazy after all.
- Sugata went down like a bitch to Head's new Cybody.

The fight was cool, though. TTGL-ish.

lol well you what they say the ending is what people will remember most about
a story. In my experience with fan fictions it is always best to have your ending and begin in mind ready first then use the meddle as bridge between the two.

For explain the start of this series was really strong with the possibility of a love triangle so the ending should have been just as strong maybe with the reinforcing the fact that the trios in this story would remain trios. (maybe adding in Keito with the main trio so she doesn't feel forever alone anymore) However this just what my experience tells me would have been an ideal route for telling this story and still think it was an alright end.

I for one found the last episode epic. Though, I think it would of been a notch better if Takuto died. With the monologue and all, it would of fit in nicely.

Overall, I can't I was too disappointed by the last episode. The show as a whole was a lot more disappointing. I expected a lot better than this. I blame all those people who claimed this was going to be Utena with mechs. Sadly, it never even come close to Utena's greatness.

I honestly wasn't expect Takuto to be the one to do the unsealing.

Sure some of the minor plot points are still unfufilled. But the big main thing for the whole series has come to a conclusion in a nice package. An OVA or two might be nice but it isn't all that needed.

A second season is impossible since well, all the Cybodies are really gone now and the seal is undone.

Unless of course that seal perhaps signaled the fish people in space to come back to earth with more Cybodies....

I smell fan fiction idea!!!

the cybodies are not gone, the mark/tattoo bearers can regenerate or revive their respected cybodies again, if your saying after Samekh has been defeated then the cybodies should vanish then why Tauburn still exist in the end?

and the seals has been undone does not mean its the end of it, this episode shows clearly that the reason for the seals is to cage the greatest evil cybody called name Samekh, and now that Samekh has gone they can make the cybodies as gundams to start a war and that is a possible sequel for you or even better aliens will invade the earth

I brought that idea up a page ago by the way.

All and all I really enjoyed this series Ivan hope for at least an OVA but we'll see.

Well overall for the serie i would rate it 8. There were alot of interestering Ideas in the serie but as the whole story there are still some missing things for me.

It's just amazing how it was basically 20 minutes of top tier action and fantastic animation overall. In a TV series. Just...wow. Really. The planning and people involved in animating this episode deserve all the praise one can get. Absolutely stunning visually. And the actual episode also lived up to it. Quite a lot of awesome scenes, like Kanako and the rest of the Kiraboshi coming together to help the world, or the way Takuto finally beat his dead -- with a punch. And what a punch it was. Or Wako's speech while Takuto was fighting Samekh IN SPACE. Or the very last part about the sky. It's true they might not ever see another sky like that, but you can always hope to see one that shines even brighter, as long as there is a future for them to return to. Good lord, I'm still a bit too excited over this, pardon me if I'm sound a bit too happy. But I can't get this grin out of my face. As a whole, it was also a very fitting end to a series which, as many have said, never took itself too seriously. Personally, once I realized that Star Driver wasn't going to get "serious" or have any sort of elaborate plot, it was a great watch and one of my favourite experiences in the last couple years. Reading Enokido's interviews also helped, since he definitely kept pushing the viewers towards this fact. The show was the good kind of mindless fun, with awesome visuals and fantastic animators working on it each week. The school parts were also very amusing most of the time, which made for an entertaining ride. And that's the best word to describe Star Driver as, in my opinion - entertaining. Sometimes, less is more, and in this regard I think Star Driver was the perfect example of it. It's like watching a good old monster of the week mahou shoujo show, except this time the little girls were replaced by awesome looking robots who fight in some surreal enviroments. And I loved it for what it is. A solid 9/10 from me. __________________

The fight itself was more or less your typical nekketsu fight, just incredibly well animated. In short, awesome. Lol at Head mocking the "shounen spirit/nekketsu". You should never underestimate young hot blooded heroes. They can overcome anything as long as THEY SCREAM LOUD ENOUGH. Takuto's punch would have carried a lot more meaning if he hadn't already punched Head the exact same way not even one episode ago. That was a bit anti-climatic. So, Head's ultimate goal was to enter an endless recurssion of time become a time traveler to get back the things he lost while trying to achieve that very goal? I didn't really expect Samekh to have that kind of abilities. It makes his defeat even less believable. The Crux apprivoising was kind of cool... but totally useless. It would have been better to use the time they wasted on that for an epilogue. I was a bit disappointed, yet relieved that Tauburn didn't turn into giant Takutoburn. Why didn't it? Weren't they supposed to fuse with their cybodies once the fourth phase was reached? Even if we assume Head bullshitted them, it doesn't explain why Madoka was able to do that thanks to the over-phase system. Plot hole? PS: Is it just me or did it almost look like Sugata and Takuto ditched Wako to be together? Overall, I can't I was too disappointed by the last episode. The show as a whole was a lot more disappointing. I expected a lot better than this. I blame all those people who claimed this was going to be Utena with mechs.
