Is it to protect Rock Lee's way of the ninja?

And why did Kakashi say that was he mad for tryin to sacrifice his life to kill Orohcimaru when he was after Sasuke? This was right after Kakashi tried to seal the Cursed seal....

Oh, I know them as Initial and Secondary (or Reverse) Lotus. Never heard it called Primary Lotus, and Primary is kinda like Initial, so I thought....

Not sure but I think Initial and Secondary Lotus is the same thing.

GreyArea, your conclusion is not wrong..My impression is, Gai-sensei taught Lee a very powerful techinque which drains the user physically and mentally..so, Gai-sensei gave him advise accordingly..Lee uses the technique to protect his way of Ninja which he formulated as he had the right to do so as a user of that technique..They are, to never back down and protect the loved ones at any cost..ultimately the cost was too high in Lee's case when he opened those gates against Gaara...Also Lee was tricked when he fought against those sound-nins..He was assuming for an one on one fight and thought opening one gate will suffice..The opponent against lee was finished if the opponent did not receive any help from his associate..

Probably that's why Naruto and Lee are so fond of saying those words, IMO..They will test their limits to any odds even though the odds may be against them..If they win, good..If they loose, no regrets..

Now I am confused about the Primary and Initial too..Guess I will watch those episode to find out what were the exact term used for each gates..

i know them as renge and ura renge (might be ora but w/e) but when he uses ura he opens 5 gates (even though he only needs to open three) and he says that its to protect his ninja way
with kakashi he said he was mad cus like zeratul said oro would have obliterated kakashi without really trying to hard

I always though the first was called initial or secondary and the second was
called extreme or primary.
