Is it just me, or the game has just got a RPGish feeling, regarding the new music.
The new sound/hit effects feel... Mugen~ish? lol

I agree on that point with all the system music, like the new character select theme and VS screen theme. Not so much on the actual character themes.

I certainly won't mind this one

but knowing ArcSystem, they'll probably release something like BBCP...2 ...EX with all the additional DLC characters for free and new content

^just arcades for now on Japan

release date for platform release has yet to be announced as far as I know

EDIT:

also, jourdal uploaded the stream from yesterday
god damn Arakune's still so powerful. Is it just me or does he curse people more easily now?

not really a fan of the new sound effects, but I guess it'll grow on me once I've played it

I kinda like the new pacing of the game too, it's so much faster than it was before

Am I the only one hoping Bullet has a thing for Bang? She's been around men a lot and is most likely into stronger men. Plus it'd be nice to see someone like bang.

Visually speaking, CP looks quite neat, and that's with low res video, so the sprites are definitely working well in that regard. I still have a lot of troubles with the art cut and the UI in general, which looks... less cutting edge, and more retro/amateurish.

What actually annoyed me to no end was the SFX and sound tracks. Really, the SFX for the moves and characters being hit are blunt, disruptive and sounds like some old SFX from a beat'em up or a rythm game. It really doesn't bode too well.
Meanwhile, most soundtracks remixes are... quite bland: they have a very slow intro, and we get extremely discreet instruments and pace not flowing too well, which is even worse as the game is much faster in term of pace.

Voice acting in general is a bit of a hit or miss: I guess it will take time to get used with a "calmer" ragna, although trollzama sounds a bit goofy/in his own world than really trolling compared to CS era.
The narrator is... well, better pronunciation, but the tone is like as if we were in a bingo/fair or something: I can't exactly take her seriously with the chara name or the "WIN!". It sounds as superficial and creepy as League of Legends narrator.

In term of presentation, I guess it is really half half for me, more on the negative side...
Gameplay wise, I'm quite surprised that the burst/overdrive point can regenerate during the same round, so I'm curious if it will just give more advantage for combo char to the detriment of heavy hitters.
Meanwhile, the flow of the game looks a tad too rushy imho, but I guess there is plenty of time to make balance left and right: sure, CT and CS required too much input for long ass combo, but here, it often looks like a bunch of skirmishes everywhere.

Oh, and Arakune's curse active after only 3 hits is scary as hell.

Yeah, but using bugs actually spends a chunk of the curse meter now; Arakune players actually have to think when using curse.

Also with regards to music, I think the Six Heroes theme is pretty awesome. It plays in matches that feature any combination of Hakumen, Valk, Platinum and Hazama (except mirror matches) and it's just really epic.

Blood Pain (mirror match theme) also actually sounds good this time, unlike CT/CS where it was extremely painful to listen to.

So far the remixed themes are really good.

The only remix track I don't like so far is Taokaka's. The violin intro...

I havn't heard all of them but I definitely like the new intro for a few of the songs.

P.S. I see that they redrew the Astral Finish for Relius vs Tsubaki.

Azrael's astral is of the most manliest fucking things I've seen in this series so far. Not even Tager or Bang's astrals reach that level of awesomeness.

Now he just needs a kanji printed on his back and then he'd be the perfect expy of Akuma.

Youtube'd:

Amane's AF= Dimitri's Midnight Bliss Pedo version.

BTW, what the hell happened to Hakumen?

Kiff would have shed manly tears at that AF.

EDIT: Weird, smiles aren't showing up at all.

How the heck could people listen to the BGM with all those SFX going on?

On the gameplay part, I think it's a huge improvement. No one love to watch long ass air combo in tournament (lolz Litchi).

Yeah, it seems like it's more like Calamity Trigger. A problem I had with Continuum Shift was that the combos could go on for a while.

Well, you can hear BGMs much clearer on these videos here:

http://www.youtube.com/user/ChronoPh...ow=grid&view=1

A Dustloop member posted a list of the new tracks:

Quote:
-All remixes now have "II" added to them. (Thanks to Tokkan for mentioning this!)
-All system music like Character Select and stuff has been changed. Title screen sounds like Castlevania music.
-Rebellion II is much faster and heavier-sounding.
-Lust Sin II has a classy new intro and instrumentation.
-Bullet Dance II has a slow guitar riff at the beginning, and sounds more speed metal-ish.
-Queen of rose II sounds about the same.
-Catus Carnival II has a more festive, Western feel to it. It sounds like hoedown music.
-MOTOR HEAD II sounds more "industrial" and heavy.
-Oriental Flower II has a sick drum intro and sounds much more metal. Now follows the chords of the vocal version from Song Accord.
-Thin Red Line II no longer has the creepy intro in the beginning and sounds like a Boston song. Organs everywhere in this bitch.
-REPPUU II sounds more like Trombe from SRW and less like Sorairo Days.
-New Bang Install theme only lasts for a few seconds, which is extremely lame.
-Marionette Purple II sounds much heavier, more filled with hatred and less classy, sounds like a country song.
-SUSANOOH II sounds much heavier and melodic.
-Awakening the Chaos II has an updated intro as far as we know.
-Condemnation Wings II has a slightly darker feel to it, orchestral intro has been removed and replaced with a keyboard/organ intro.
-Gluttony Fang II has a sexy piano intro now.
-Alexandrite II sounds more rave-y.
-Howling Moon II is heavier and more melodic, sounds like a Harmony of Despair-style remix of the original.
-Active Angel II sounds even more like a Sonic song.
-Plastic Night II sounds more speed-metal oriented.
-Amane theme has a neat little flute intro, sounds like a Samurai Shodown song.
-Bullet theme sounds like another Sonic song, fluctuates between chill and hot-blooded.
-Azrael theme is extremely chaotic and heavy.
-Izayoi theme sounds very dramatic, like a JRPG plot-relevant boss battle.
-Under Heaven Destruction sounds much faster, feels like thrash metal.
-White Requiem sounds quite different from the original interpretation.
-Weak Executioner has some new sections.
-Nightmare Fiction doesn't sound as heavy and violent, but definitely has a more malevolent feel to it.
-X-Matic sounds much faster, more suited for an actual battle.
-Cross Line sounds much more melodic, retains the original vocals.
-Blood Pain sounds much more melodic, has a sick new intro.
-New theme for Ragna vs. Hakumen.
-New Theme for Valkenhayn vs. Relius
-New theme for Azrael vs. Tager
-New theme for Six Heroes battles.
-New theme for generic final boss battle, like Midnight Carnival.
