SAO Volume 10 is confirmed to be released in July 10th, 2012, the same month as the anime starts.

This time the sub-title is "Alicization Running" (アリシゼーション・ランニング)
(tomtkp: What? Alicization Running? I was expecting sub-title such as Project Alicization or even Alicization Beginning II but now we get "Running" instead? Noooooooooooooooo, it's way too funny)

Below is the Japanese long synopsis for Volume 10:

谜のファンタジー世界に入り込んでしまったキリト。
VRMMOチックなその空间で最初に出会った少年、ユージオ。
《NPC》とは思えないほど感情豊かなその少年と共に、キリトは央都《セントリア》に向かう。
ユージオは、幼少期に连れ去られてしまった幼驯染みのアリスを救うため。
キリトは、央都に存在するであろう外部との连络手段《システムコンソール》を见つけるため。
二人は《生まれ故郷》であるルーリッドの村を旅立ち、

そして、二年が过ぎた――。

Anyone interesting in translating the long synopsis can do so.

From the synopsis, it is assumed that Volume 10 will cover Chapter 4 and 5 of the web version and there is a hint that there might be extra contents for Chapter 5. Whether Volume 10 will cover Chapter 6 or not, we do not know yet. We will wait and see.

How long are these chapters, if it's only covering 4 and 5 in one volume? I'm assuming they're on the longer side!? Thanks for the info though

Chapter 4 and 5 combined contains the length of an average light novel (300 pages or less) but I am expecting extra contents for Chapter 5.

Any light novel is short when compared to Horizon...

And chapter 1 of volume 9 is from 188 to 403

Asuna diving in UW? It's still too early for now.

Don't compare other light novels with Horizon. Kawakami is producing dictionaries, not light novels.

no.. heacliff met kiriko in like lvl 55 floor boss.
like the 75lvl floor boss, 55 was HAX'd.
When the front line was about to collapse, heacliff and kirito held the front line to defeat the floor boss together.

thats where heacliff first met kirito.

Yep, that's from the web version, according to the first post. But volume 10 covers 4 and 5 from the web version, so it's not as if the web version chapters are shorter than the published version, right?

There are 308 parts, not chapters of Alicization. Those 308 parts are compiled into 8 chapters + epilogue + 2 interludes.

If you think that "Ohh..since Volume 10 may cover up until Chapter 5, there are 3 more chapters left, so Volume 11 can finish the whole thing up", then you are wrong. Beware of Chapter 7 & 8, those are massive chapters.

About Kirito's memory loss, wait for Prologue II of Volume 9 and also Volume 10, you would understand why eventually.

i think its a new coat.

When kirito was helping Sachi and his old guild, he told them that his coat was made of rare materials and he didnt take much damage to hide the fact his HP bar was gignormous.

But he then says he wasnt lying about his comment either.

I just started reading SAO again...read vols 6-7 over the past few days.
I finished vol 7 earlier today, and ahh...I was really unprepared for the tears streaming down my face.
Konno Yuuki and Asuna's friendship is a beautiful thing... ;-;

So many moments in vol 7 that were awesome/touching...

Spoiler:

- Kirito. Slicing. Magic. In. Half. I mean the bullets in GGO was awesome...but several high magic attacks?! Damn!
- Kirito and Cline's stand against a guild's reinforcements of 30~ (Even though its not really focused on...)
- Asuna and the Sleeping Knights victory of beating the boss!
- Everyone showing up at that island on the 24th floor and seeing Yuuki off...

I think I won't jump into the next vol. for a while...I won't get over the loss of Yuuki so soon.
