I've read the rules you've linked to there, and don't see a single explicit mention that the forum is only for Electronic games. I think you're coming up with a non-existent interpretation. I had a thread about Tabletop RPG's before, and the moderators seemed completely fine with it.

Also, I think having a Mahjong thread in the Games forum would be much preferable outcome than the Saki thread becoming a Mahjong thread.

That was a fun episode. Nice job by Ryoko Shintani as Kaori, stumbling her way to victory. And Kyoutaro continues to prove that he has a fine future as an errand boy.

So-so episode... The only thing that really left any impression on me was that Kaori was cute...

I think there were a few pointless and stupid yuri-yuri scenes of Nodoka and Saki where they slept beside each other... Nah... It doesn't exist. Nope.

The actual match wasn't anything special. Though at least for once, a super esper actually loses. Characters cheating and winning all the time, so it felt good to see one lose for once. Then again, her power compared to the others is rather... lacking in impact. Don't really care about her anyways. ( ´,_ゝ｀)プッ
And in the meantime, the other two megane characters (the one on the annoying ojou-sama's side and the white/silver-haired one) don't get a chance to show anything.

Koromo... was cute, I guess. It felt like it was so aimed for, that I didn't really actually feel much from watching her "cute" scenes though.

Listening to it right now, that purple-haired girl on Kaori's team (leader, was it?)... her voice rather doesn't fit...

And next episode is the club president's turn to wipe everyone else out?
Ah~ Red/purple-haired girl on Kaori's team with a strange hairstyle~ Run-away~...

In addition, some flag was set to explain the star-mark girl's past. Though I have an idea already...

He's referring to the change of Mako's family's store from a mahjong parlor to a "maid cafe with a mahjong table".

Gonzo decided they needed Nodoka to say "Yes, master" a few times, so they changed mako's family's store from a mahjong parlor where the staff dressed as maids to a full-blown maid cafe.

Hisa therefore has to add an extra line when she flashes back saying "Oh, but before mako's place was a maid cafe is was actually a mahjong parlor" wasting an entire line on that retcon.

Talk about beginner's luck. The one qualm I had about this match was that it was too short. What is the "ability" of the girl from Ryuumonbuchi? She didn't seem to do anything at all.

Lol Gonzo, back to mahjong parlor? Oh boy.

Loli^2 Koromo is oh my god.... Though I feel that Kaorin's voicing of her feels a bit inconsistent between her "arrogant/confident" mode to her "pitiful" mode. Koromo is a complex character. It'll be better later on hopefully.

Nice to also have the Tsuruga side proper. I liked Yumi as a character. She strikes me as a Zhuge Liang type character, particularly what happens later on. Very intelligent and a well-planned person.

And we have the 2nd ED again. Looks like when Hocchan ends the episode, it's series business.

I went ahead and made a topic in Games, and I've added some things and will add more, but I'm a bit pressed for time right now. Feel free to ask questions as those are less labour intensive than writing up a full blown beginner's guide to Japanese mahjong.

Saki and Nodoka took off their skirt and went to bed? They sleeping area isn't exactly a personal sleeping area... quite interesting. Those two need to just kiss and relieve all this yuri tension building up!

Koromo was cute... that interaction with that what's her name in the hall way was pretty funny.

Liking this series and things are starting to get more interesting. Can't wait for the next episode.

OHHHH, I can't stand people like those two who tried stealing the penguin out of poor sportsmanship and jealousy, at least they realized what they did was wrong and are about to go about fixing it.

I don't see much problem really. When people watching Hikaru no Go they gona start discussing about Go. Since this show is centered around mahjong, everyone who are watching the show at one point or another will discuss about the mahjong part. It's basically the range of discussion this series has provide and a form of apreciation to the show also. I'm really sorry if it's too loud. ~_~

Of course, some discussion is fine and even on-topic. But keep in mind, for general questions like how-to-play, or specifics of the rules, and so on, you can't expect people to read through 50+ pages of the Saki thread to find that one time way back when someone mentioned some specific explanation. People will have different questions at different times, and the same questions will repeat themselves. (Some on-going discussion could even occur after the series is over.) So it's actually more convenient for general purpose questions to be organized in their own thread so they're easier to find. Of course, questions specific to things that happen in the anime itself belong here. I hope that clarifies the distinction.

Fun episode. I thought the way the Tsuruga girl accidentally beat all the other girls was hilarious plus a table full of megane-chan! Heh.

Fujita and Koromo interaction was sort of odd.

I can't WAIT for Hisa's match next episode though... That back story really was fantastic. Loved Mihoko's belated revelation. Bwahahahha. Go President!!

Thanks that clears up alot, RelentlessFlame. I myself never played the game before watching this show. So alots what going on in the anime were quite confusing for me. I'm really grateful there are some really nice people here help explain the terms and game rules. Thus making the show alot more enjoyable. ^_^

Its a shame that they didnt show Tomoki playing t_t But we got super-cute KoromoxPenguin, some funny scenes between her and Fujita Pro, some yuri between SakixNodoka and ED2 (!) so Im fine <3 Though removing the skirts was wtf.

But Kaori sure is cute <3 Blasting off everyone with a yakuman first round lol. I wished for a meganekko round last episode and I really got it \o/

edit: We also get more-or-less the reason for Hajimes chains (Hajime <3) so this episode was pretty cool.

Also Tsuruga should be aiming for Kazekoshi, judging from the last scene this is probably the worst thing she could do. You know youre going down when youre facing twintails as your opponent (lol) Episode 11 will be epic, I can feel it.

* Nodoka sleep with Saki, after Saki made her feel good. Man, if only things were that easy for me...
* Nodoka nearly got her precious thing stolen (no, not by Saki).
* The folks from Tsuruga seems to be dropouts of Momozuki Gakuen, as opposed by Koromo who is a Disgaea or Touhou runaway.
* On the matter of Koromo: she might be a complete Mahjong monster, but that aside she's a plushie doll. So that would be a plushie doll that hugs a plushie doll, hmm....
* I think Saki will get a nightmare if Koromo is around while she's sleeping.
* No, i will not believe that you're a girl, Jun.
* If i were Mako, i would have gotten myself taller. To be defeated by a total n00b who wins by (possibly unhuman) luck... and Mako is someone who pride herself on tradition and experience! (what was that flashback all about?!)
* WTF, the Mahjong part only makes up for about 1/3 of the episode?
* My prediction about things between Hisa and Mihoko is partially right, yay!
* The ending changes whenever things are dire for Mihoko. (even though Mihoko doesn't feature prominently in the ending animation.)
* Kaori is my new moe. Minor character moe~

Is it just me, or is Koromo inhumanly white? Is she just pale-skinned, or is she really the white rabbit of Inaba?

Yes, I couldn't agree more. ^_^ Just reading this thread, I got to admit I didn't get it at all. Until I actually tried the game, then it makes perfect sense. Having played the game also make me view this series in different light. Like in the beginning she was doing 'plus minus zero' I got the hint that was something cool she did. But after I played the game, I realized that is something really incredible to be able to stay plus minus zero. Even a veteran will have problem to pull that off. What a strange girl she is. >_<
