That actually gave me an idea for MySpace's new slogan. "Where 'tards gather."

@ KholdStare : Me too... moreover, that "crazy" text i mentioned above is usually combined with this kind of font coloring... I'd actually like KSJ's coloring because it's match the AS blue theme i'm using... |

I remembered another place where tards gather. MAPLESTORY.
And sorry Saiga, everyone seems to have started mutiny and turned the thread around, ignoring you. It's very good that you try, just ignore anyone that criticizes you. Go on with whatever you were doing and act like the troll wasn't there. They're really just very bored people. They may not even really be mean or ignorant as they seem. Just bored, and need something to do. We all act that way sometimes. As they say, anon is always inside us. O_O

I have my problems with sloppy typing but your posts in this thread are hardly unreadable. You don't even need to worry about your disability as an excuse: I can read your post just fine, and it doesn't annoy me to hell either. TinyRedLeaf is right though: the eye is often said to be the window to the soul in real life, but here in cyberland we only have others' writings to rely on. A truly sloppy typing style is a very bad impression. He's also right in that making proper typing a habit is actually more beneficial to myself than to others. It really makes going through all those college homeworks much easier if I can dash out an essay without using spellcheck once every five seconds after all. Quote:

Saiga mentioned that he/she had a medical condition, so I'll take that into consideration.
And yes, I don't really like to assume what is being rolled out on the screen. Assume makes an ass out of u and me. |

I personally consider my self a Grammar Nazi, but if the person actually puts thought into their statement, I keep the "corrections" to myself and such. As for people like the masses on YouTube or MySpace, I ignore their comments rightout because there's usually nothing of importance in them anyway.

Eh... I once stopped and thought, "Well...it's not like I type terribly, so if some guy criticizes me, he's the asshat, and everyone's on my side." And then I simply laugh if anybody ever pulls that on me. I usually get more of the "no, you're wrong, and I'm right, despite ALL your reasoning, because (insert 10 lines here)" attitude, and I get a kick whenever they do that, because they're patently wasting their time to respond to some one-line statement I whipped up in half a minute.
My point is it's usually not the typing that bothers me. It's the attitude. I've seen very reasonable people type terribly and then somebody types this huge essay in perfect English spouting self-importance. |

What are you talking about? I completely understood that, and actually, it's quite normal around here. Most will not have a problem, unless you have a spelling error about a word that could be important to spell correctly. For example, if you say "looking for a series simlar to Kimi ga Nozo Eien," people might not correct simlar, but they will correct the title.

TinyRedLeaf said pretty much what I might say on the subject. If you think it is important enough to post about and want other people to read it.... then take a bit of care in composing it.
Being lazy and sloppy just communicates that we shouldn't waste our energy on you either. However, a forum about entertainment or a hobby is somewhat casual and being a bit casual is fine. The "3am brain fart" post is a completely different matter ... At Saiga (the OP) ... I think your quality of posts you've shown us is just fine for most purposes. No clue why anyone would find enough fault with it to worry about it.

*stabs it repeatedly* make it go away! make it go away!!!! my eyes~~~ ;_; (that really does hurt, instant ignore for me) And wow, there's a lot of frustrated people here, or people just generally like to rant. (wonders if this therad's gonna get closed for people reversing the question and bashing others) xD My pet peeve = leet or l33t THIS IS NOT A MATH CLASS, WE ARE NOT DEALING WITH ALGEBRA!!! The day I saw enough of it to be able to read it, i wanted to blow my brains out (spent 3 years on another anime forum, sadly my brain registered) Or rather if i could erase a memory in my mind, it would be the ability to read the stupid thing. Words in the english alphabet are formed from 26 letters, not numbers. Stick to it. To actually answer the question now, i get ribbed a lot mainly in my chan >.> *is very lazy* At least in IM's, most common annoyances to others seem to be my lack of capitalisation (shift key, too much work) and sometimes using 'u' instead of 'you' or 'nite' instead of 'night', my 'i' is almost always in lower case. And then there's the usual abbreviations ttyl = talk to you later bbiab = be back in a bit so in addition we got ofc = of course cba = can't be arsed (bad habits i picked up from a friend who is worse than me shortcut wise on IM's, lol) And so on... I have been persecuted for it and I improved (just a lil) - but since we're talking random stuff most days, i can't be arsed to make the additional effort and yes as you can see that flows into my stuff in here too. I do hit the edit button a lot here tho, whenever i catch bad typos or really bad spelling, it does bug me, lol. It depends on the topic too, if it's a case where i'm debating on some topics like the 'child porn ban in UK' then yes, my posts are getting copy/pasted into Word and proof read a thousand times because then i am exerting my thoughts based on my intelligence and general opinion and i've just grown up learning to debate in a certain way via school/uni, arguments do need to be fairly solid for it to hold ground. Aside from that, no one has hassled me here, i figure most kinda glance over my errors from time to time, which is nice of you all >.> *hopes she hasn't started a witch hunt on herself now*
