Makoto, I could call him maybe an innocent bistander in all of this, but then I would say a great big lie. He is a man trapped in the chanins of lust and naivety. Because i just look at him and can't understand how someone can't think of what the course of his actions are doing. He looks and acts innocent but this only masks his complete lack of responsability and brainless actions.
Somehow he deserved his fate, but I think that the true punishment could be denying this way out for him. To let the people see just what kind of man he really is.

Anyway, Makoto needed to die despite how stupid it is to take someone's life away just because they cheated on you more than once. It was clear Makoto wasn't in his right mind when he made his choices and some of his choices weren't made by him (ie: Setsuna blocking Kotonoha on his cellphone). Honestly, the guy is an indecisive and shy jerk. He can't answer simple yes or no questions or explain himself well at all. It's like he's a 10 year old trying to explain why he hasn't done his homework yet when it is 10:00 PM at night...

Yay for his death?

I have to argee with you, because I flet the same way you did when Sekai kill him for the simple reason that he cheated on her, but she was lonely because Kiyoura left and Makoto was being a jerk about the whole it may or may not be just baby thing to. It still seem all too unrealized and when I think about it now, it was unrelized how he was able to sleep with all of those girl. I can see how he was able to sleep with Sekai, Kiyoura, and Kato. But it got out of hand when he was sleeping with Hikria and those other girls that hang around Kato all the time. Thats when I flet that they just throw that idea in there just for entertainment. And the way the show ended, I think the way they did it, was all about fanservice right there, because it was a little more, to have Kotonoha cut open Sekai stomach just to see if she had a baby in there or not

I'll agree Makoto was spineless, wimpy, (fill in the blank)., but to say he deserved what he got is completely absurd. Almost everyone goes through phases of selfishness and being insincere towards others' feeling's. and to say that someone should deserves to get killed over it is completely ridiculous. Whatever happened to giving people a CHANCE to reform?

You might as well say that if some youth has a habit of stealing they should get knived for it, or if someone gets in fights a lot in their youth they deserve to get killed. If everyone got the axe for being young, dumb, and full of you know what, well none of us would be here, would we?

The girls in this anime are as much to blame for the emotional trauma as Makoto. They knew what they were getting into (and in Katsura's case she was plenty aware of the situation whether she wanted to believe it or not) before they decided to throw themselves at Makoto. How's that saying go? Fool me once shame on me, fool me twice shame on you, fool me three times, well GOD DAMN!

He needs some obedience boot camp or sumthin.

If was in his shoes, first of all, I wouldn't let my hormones rage outta control, 2nd, if I was his friend in that anime (no thanks to Taisuke, he's just as bad *off topic*) I'd prolly punch him in the face for every time he let loose just for using one of the girls like a cigarette. 3rd, I'd prolly get better reflexes if a knife was coming at me. ;P and finally if all that had occured I'd prolly get out of all of their lives and let them gather themselves...though Konata and her psycho factor would be a problem...I'd prolly have to talk with her for like a day b4 getting it into her head, lawl. (and make sure she's not near any sharp objects)

After much thought I now blame Makoto's parents.... No not for giving birth to the sorry excuse for a human being, but for not giving him access to the internet. With lots of porn and a box of tissues the School Days universe might have been a better place :P

I think Makoto is insensitive and blind to his surroundings. He doesnt know the situation he is in at that very moment right in front of him. He doesnt feel guilt unless someone tells him that it is wrong. And he slept with every single girl he can hook up on.

Its like he has a natural instinct to repopulate the world and not knowing it. But if Sekai didnt kiss him at the beginning and pushed him into a relationship, i think he might have just ended up a girlfriend-less shy guy.

But i have a theory, he wants fun with every girl he can meet, and doesnt want babies. So what happens if Kotonoha and Sekai chase him out of love and tell him out loud "I want to have ur babies!! Be my boyfriend!" ..

Heh heh heh .. he might have gone more nuts thatn the poor poor innocent Kotonoha.

Seriously this guy was going over the top with the cheating on everyone. (you risk getting dumber every time you see his actions)

Most people would have sliced and diced him good, i'm sure of that.

I don't really see the point why the majority hate Makoto so much.
He's almost like us, a learner that goes overboard.

But it doesn't look like the girls he hanged gave him such a misfortunate ending.

After watching this series I felt that me and him were very alike. There were so many times that I was tempted to do unspeakable things behind my girlfriends back but somehow I restrained myself. I guess I shouldn't say that me and Makoto are similar but I could be him if I wanted to and that makes me very afriad of myself.

XD at the thought of discussing Makoto. I think it's safe to say that just about everyone hates him, and for good reason.

At least we can all say that the ending was satisfying in some ways.

lol, Makoto srsly reminds me of my friend who srsly has his kind of attitude on girls (well...more like anime girls.) He'd wanna do them just like Makoto, if he'd get the chance. And ironically, none of my friends that are girls, like him. Lol, I was gonna ask him if he could cosplay Makoto one convention...

All the way up to watching the last episode I had wanted to see Makoto die an excruciatingly painful death. After watching it, i'd have to say that nothing good came out of his death. She should have just gotten the abortion and been done with it. It's not like she was planning to keep the baby after murdering him, right? Honestly though, i'd have to say that Makoto was almost like a victim in this anime, with Sekai being the Succubus. Honestly, if she hadn't done all that meddling (after getting Makoto and Katsura together) things would've turned out so much better. And then she kills him because he's unfaithful? What, so she was expecting commitment after seducing him?
