Okay, since you guys talked about traits odd that OCs have, I think I have some for my guys.

Eric: Guitar Player (Acoustic and Electric)
- He doesn't write songs, but does guitar cover of written songs. It's more of a hobby of his.

Considering the novel is in the verge of death, you can be glad that you're less restricted in creativity or greatly saddened that you can't have updated source because most of the important points are left hanging.

Some get different upgrades indeed, for example Ichika's increase was his toughness, reflex and speed, while Houki become lightning fast with extra precision, Cecilia had the best accuracy and gained what's mostly described as spatial awareness, but has the worst physical upgrade.

And by near-superhuman, they're still depicted as being realistic (at least in terms of number). Houki still slower than wold Class runner, even if she can run longer at full speed.

Of course this is assuming I really HAVE to upgrade them, and depict mutant zombies which basically risky somewhat.

@ Senpai - How do they not get infected? Are they simply immune like the survivors from dead frontier?

They just very careful about it, anytime someone get bitten, it's the end (until Tabane brought the vaccine that is). Also, anyone died of natural cause ha nice chance being eaten or if still relative fresh, get eaten partially and turn into zombie

@ Senpai - Why not amputate the limb if it's just arm or non-vital? Also, imagine of there's no extra lives on dead frontier

If you have proper tool and/or skill to do a proper amputation then there's no particular reason not to do it. A Haphazardly done amputation can backfire.

Problem is once the virus/bacteria/nanomachine/whatever entering the blood circulatory system: game over.

Some people does have immunity, though they STILL carry the agents... which bring a new set of paranoia.

Is the infection global or limited to Japan? I'm assuming it's not airborne since that would kill off the cast.

No, not airborne, and for some reason, not cross-species... it was a specific virus of unknown origin that only affect human, though as I said before, anyone/anything immune to virus still carry them.

The infection started in East Asian and it got worse from there.

Still have to consider that, for now, Chinese got the worst due to extremely dense population.
