Episode 78:
Dat embrace... It was okay. Transition episode and defeat of Keyes although I was underwhelmed by the "fight". Next week should be more intense though based on the PV. The son and father relationship between Gray/Silver was the highlight of this week's episode imo. Regarding the new OP song...I kinda like it but prefer the previous one better. Nice ED theme though.

So in the end...Gray pretty well gets what I thought Lucy should have after her fight. A sacrifice and precious person lost and a power permanently gained for that. Instead of being Lucy's reward which was a temporary boost that now is done and gone.
Not a bad episode though. Some good emotional drama there. The moments with Gray and his father was excellent. Another person lost, but at least he got a farewell he can accept for this. Got a good amount of time and will keep moving forward. Juvia's fight was more a struggle of emotions and whether she should fight seriously against this opponent or not. In the end she made her call and it was very much the right action to take at that time. No offense to Erza....but seriously drop Minerva and get your rear moving. This isn't a time to be leisurely carrying around a former enemy. Dump that idiot, grab the mushroom and get moving. The magic of a continent is on the line here....this is not the time for a little stroll.

ep 78 was a quite emotional episode.
Julvia's final decision... damn... Julvia better get one of the best end for this. As for Erza and Minerva... it won't matter much even if Erza dumps Minerva, because we all know the Mushroom is stalling for time, so even if Erza's by herself, she'll still end up wondering around randomly. |

Episode 79:
So it looks like we got to most of the action this week including bits with Mard Geer as well. I feel like the comedy for this arc is getting weak though, didn't really laugh much from it at all. As for the fighting itself, I gotta say that the Etherious' transformations looks pretty ugly and dangerous:

Skipped a few episodes just to see they are still dealing with Tartaros and Face..
Well, at least Gray evolved. The rest are pretty beaten up by all the fighting. Only Natsu & Gajeel can knock each other out while fighting a third party ROFL That water thing makes it seem like Tartaros guys are winning.. Pretty bleak episode end.

Episode 80:
Eh, I didn't find the fight involving Gajeel to be exciting, definitely one of the more underwhelming ones imo. They also used more time for flashbacks more than I had thought but since the episode also covered a bit of Laxus vs. Tempesta, I guess it was alright. The music used during the fight was decent as well so I'll look forward to see the result of that fight. On another note, I'm starting to like the new OP song now. Wasn't too used to it at first but kinda like it now.

How does Tempester remember Laxus, or even his name, when he had complete amnesia when he was resurrected at hell's core? ...and how did Gajeel use his hand for that last punch, didn't he break it when Torafuzar changed his density to deflect his iron fist?

To be fair, it did feel drawn out and a bit silly at certain parts. Gajeel is rarely done justice and although his flashback was meaningful and added a bit to his character, it was as untimely as they come - placing it right after Jackal's bombardment would have made much more sense.

Episode 81:
This week's episode felt predictable tbh. I think it's mostly because of the result of the fight but then again, Laxus earned my respect what he's done. Hoping the next fight between Kyoka and Erza will be exciting.

I'm thoroughly impressed. The anime managed to include Gray stepping in to save the day without undermining Laxus' appearance. Hiro wasn't kidding when he said he had awesome things planned for Laxus. And we get an actual explanation for Tempester's "Immortal" title.
