Been waiting for this episode and was not disappointed. Loved the episode and how emotional it was. It's a shame about Aquarius, but at the same time, if felt like the most fitting.
This is also the point where I stopped reading the manga to avoid spoilers. So the rest of this arc, including the upcoming fight, is all a mystery to me. |

It's weird, but the anime seemed to make Lummy's death even more graphic. In the manga, her whole body blew up without a trace. In the anime, we actually see her headless body slump down. That's sure gonna scar some people.

I have to admit: my eyes got moist during the episode. Aquarius may deny it on the surface but she has shown time and time again that she sees Lucy almost like a daughter and that decision was as painful for her as it was for Lucy. I haven't seen such a sentimental Fairy Tail episode in a very very long time. Great job by the Anime team (on top of the great work by the mangaka obviously).
And yes, I never forgot that Hirano Aya is a pretty darned good VA. I've been liking her performances since Kiddy Grade and still think that she doesn't deserve the shunning she's gotten for her personal choices. Bloody mentality of seeing VA and Idols as something other than humans. /end_rant

Episode 74:
Mm, fight this episode between the Celestial Spirit King and Mard Geer. Camera angles and OST worked well. In story plot wise, it looks like the two used to know each other. Mard Geer's abilities are quite fearsome as well butI find it most interesting that he is calm as hell during the fight. Still felt bad for Lucy after she lost Aquarius though. And silly Jackal, did he honestly think that taking a cheap attack would work Good seeing Lucy getting the power to perform her Urano Metria.

spirit king was more strong but too slow while mard was more fast but much more weak then that made then matched for the fight.

You can't fight the power of meteor BURRRRRRRRRRRRRREIDO! But yeah, it was even; CSK is basically immortal and OP while MG is, uh, also immortal(?) or at least has insane defense curses. It's worth mentioning that CSK bequeathed Aquarius' power to Lucy, who used it all up in one go; had it been a normal fight, the outcome could have been more decisive. Anyway, petrification seems to work as well.
Still feeling bad about Lucy, even if she spent half the episode crying. This is also one of the times when I'm not really hyped to see Erza...you have all the badasses of Tartaros ready for a team fight and meanwhile, yeah, we got that fight too. It just seems less important, although it needs to be resolved, eventually. P.S: CSK said "old friend" so many times, I was starting to think he may be professor Xavier. |

I've been waiting for this fight and it didn't disappoint. Lucy was incredible in these last two episodes. To summarize what she achieved: Plutogrim destroyed, Alegria curse lifted, halted Mard Geer, defeated Jackal and saved her whole guild.

And Gildarts is nowhere to be seen... Didn't Mavis stand toe to toe with Zeref? Or at least she kept him at bay or something? I thought it was hinted at some point. If so, then I guess they'll have to find a way to revive her.

In the end props to Lucy. Yeah, as one might in that situation she spent a good amount of time in grief. But in the end she stood up, kicked ass, and saved the day. Her willingness to make that painful choice summoned the King who cut down the enemies base and freed the guild from the curse. That alone is pretty darn substantial. But on top of that Lucy also takes down one of the the top enemies. Pretty darn good effort on her part. I do hope that something of what was left behind to Lucy remains. A one time power up is fine, but going forward it would be nice if she had enough magic to handle herself that well going ahead.
Either way, awesome showdown. The Celestial King was a badass. The issue was that he just couldn't land a hit on Mard Geer. Too bad he couldn't do that petrification thing and then attack . They made sure to show off that this guy is insanely powerful. Plus he was pretty darn pissed. The basic requirements of his summoning say enough, but he knows how much Lucy cares about her friends and the celestial spirits. He saw that well enough in the incident with 'Leo.' I'm sure he wishes that he could have done even more. So yeah, I'm pretty happy that Lucy did get a moment of triumph. It may require instinct for the others to understand that, but I'm glad she has that acknowledgment within the series and outside of it. Lucy often is used as a punching bag, but for once she got the chance to shine.

Really enjoyed this episode. I wish Lucy's fight was longer, but the CSK and Mr. Geer (whatever his first name is) was decent. Fights are a bit boring when nothing is actually happening between them. In this case it was mostly them talking, but it was flashy and I loved the ending and tie in to Eclipse.

If they did know, Lucy probably told them in an off-screen event in the aftermath. She doesn't forget about Aquarius and we're occasionally reminded of her sacrifice in this arc, but for now, Lucy is focusing on the battle at hand.

Episode 76
The 4-on-4 fight isn't really much of a fight this episode tbh, considering that Silver literally takes Gray away. I think the show also eased the tension a bit with the comedy on some parts until Wendy realized what was going on.... The fight between Neo Minvera and Erza...was alright I guess, wasn't as exciting as I had thought actually. Seems like we find out more about Minerva's past which isn't pleasant. Glad to see Sting and Rogue arrive though. ABOUT TIME. Wendy's new hair style. I kinda like it as a form of symbolizing her determination.
