Good, I still don't know what you are talking about.

I resisted most spoilers until now and I would appreciat if you guys start posting every discussion about that spoiler in spoiler tags... even if it just something like: "I read it and raaaaged!!". I know the danger of forgeting spoiler tags in a heated discussion happens quite often, please be mindfull of us (yet) unspoilered people. :3

I managed to avoid the site and the spoiler. Then the discussion in this thread happened. And I read it. But alas, it be my own fault in the end.

I'd like not to be further spoiled by rumor-mill stuff, however much it may be true, thank you very much.

I mean really, can any of you guys actually see him wasting away in some turian old-folks home? Fuck that shit, seriously.

The continued rage-point is Bioware's recent insistence on making sure player choice means virtually nothing and retconning decisions from earlier games (hi, DA2 and zombie!Leliana). If Cerberus is the enemy this time, what happened with the renegade ending in ME2? The paragon ending, yeah, I can see it, because Shepard basically tells Illusive Man that she's quitting and to go fuck off and die in a fire. But my asshole Shepard and Illusive Man were pretty buddy-buddy at the end after not destroying the Collector base.

Seriously Bioware, you shouldn't have given us that option if it wasn't going to make a bit of a fucking difference.

*rage rage rage*
"Ah yes... player decisions. We have dismissed that claim."

Seriously though. I'll refrain from posting any more spoilers. And for those who don't get the quote above...

Spoiler for Ah yes... Reapers:

Can someone remind me how the Council is able to deny the existence of the Reapers again?

Surely they can remember how they almost died by the hands of a gigantic robo-squid-crustacean-thing. Was it just them thinking that it was the Geth all this time?

They won't deny it this time

They'll be too busy blaming Shepard for starting all this mess

They'd rather believe that Sovereign was a geth ship and that Saren made up the whole Reaper thing in order to get the geth on his side.

If all they do is keep pretending that the Reapers aren't real they will be too busy being dead to blame anyone .

Fear. It's a lot easier to tell yourself that Sovereign was just a Geth flagship and that Reapers were just Saren's lies to try and instill fear in the people, than to accept that there is a race of ancient sentient machines out there who were responsible for wiping out the Protheans and are now coming for your crunchy little hides.

Lots of juicy new info, but what caught my attention the most was:

"These spaces large enough to accommodate a six hundred foot Reaper bossfight, and a fifty foot Cerberus Atlas mech Shepard himself pilots later in the game."
Shepard piloting a 15 meter tall Mecha?!?!?!

"We've taken a lot of feedback from the Mass Effect community," says Hudson. "more than anything, people want us to deepen the RPG aspect of the experience. Now, that isn't necessarily something traditional; about stats and loot; we see it as being more about exploration and making a good character-driven story with intelligent decision-making in how you progress."
Quote:
"You were begrudgingly working for Cerberus in ME2" Explains Casey Hudson, "but they've gone a bit further and Shepard has returned to the Alliance so Cerberus troops are a major threat"
Something does not compute here.

Pretty much every one of Shepard's conversation options when it came to Cerberus was some form of 'well, we don't have much choice.' The only difference was that it either 'well, I don't like this but let's make the best of it' or 'if you so much as twitch the wrong way I'll rip you in half'

Chummy? I don't recall a single instance of renegade being chummy with TIM. Hell, the renegade ending is him pretty much going "I'm going to stop the reapers, with or without you. Keep up or get left behind."
