I doubt he can even beat his dad right now, a loss again after his dad beat him 489 time is not going to have much effect on him. This time it's going to be the 490 time souma lost to his dad.

Hmmm... apple risotto... maybe I should try making one since it has all the things that I like, apple, bacon, and risotto(although I don't know if it will taste good when combined. I know apple flambe, bacon, and pork loin taste good together, but for risotto...)

I'm pretty sure it was just a figure of speech and the number was arbitrary.

It's also possible that they're not counting their "bad" cooking contests which is also a commonplace for them.

Apple risotto, does it really taste good? I can't imagine eating rice with apple. I bet it will taste awful if its cooked by your average joe.

Depend on the rice used really, and I think you will need to add some apple vinegar(or lemon like in the manga, although I'm not sure whether the lemon smell will overpower the whole dish or not) to counterbalance the apple taste(also depend on the apple. If you use sour apple, you might want to add a little sugar instead).

I've made an pork-simmered-with-apple-on-top-of-rice chinese food before and it unexpectedly taste quite good

risotto though, I'm not quite sure. I mean, I usually cook risotto with butter and I'm not sure if butter and apple goes well together(is there a risotto that doesn't use butter?)

Lots of fruit actually goes well with rice, appearance aside, and it getseven better with a litte added seasoning and protein. Try eating watermelon with rice, it actually taste quite decent

Nah she has her moments where she can be cute but then I just hate that personality where she is negative after everything that has happened she should have grown some confidence but has failed to do so and all the more she goes to Soma "you can't beat your dad" crap its getting annoying when she does that.

Erina has sexiness and style, plus she is undoubtedly cute when she gets caught off by Soma.

Here in south italy we usually don't use butter but only oil(really good quality oil, not the one you buy at the supermarket) to make it hurt less on the health. It isn't as good as with butter but it still delicious. I have never eaten apple risotto(north recipe) but checked the recipe list and the original recipe seems to agree on use of butter and apple together, though it says to use brandy insteade of apple juice and the apple dices are added from the start, also there is no lemon. Another versione uses wine and a liter of vegetal brooth. I suggest putting part of risotto on another pan and checking taste with lemon there.

That's interesting *_*. iIRC, Southern Italy is where they use more seafood ingredients compared to north's beef right? BTW, des that mean southern italy's risotto is not as creamy as northern's and closer to thicker porridge?
