Few more pics on Mikatan's blog. Didn't plan to buy it, but they definitely went nuts on it (and for once, the base is a bit special). They even made a CM for that
GSC really give a run for people's money.
That universe under her skirt...
Me GUSTA !!!

Though 14k is a very very high price to pay in order to see that blackhole under her skirt...

Probably just an image of Homura starring back at you....(or blocking the view).

Yeah, just under 11k barely made my limit to buy it. If it had been another 500 yen, I don't know if I'd have been able to mentally justify it.

I haven't ordered Madoka yet & not sure if I will (she will probably sell out at cheaper stores while I am debating)

But over at MFC some people did some estimates & she seems to be cheapest at Hobby Search. They are having a 50% off promotion on shipping.

I buy several figures a month, so with combined shipping I don't really take shipping costs in to account (though large orders, like this month, can sting).

.
She will eventually sell out, timing is the key when it comes to preordering.

Yeah not sure if I want to spend the money. It's way more than I like to spend on a figure.

The reason I want her is because I think she is a beautiful figure but she is not a favorite character and I also tend to only buy figures for characters I love. Hence why I am a bit conflicted.

This is even more critical with this figure as it is plainly advertised as made-to-order release, which means there won't be as much extra as regular scale (the fact even they do that on their official website is a big indication).

I'm actually quite torn in this case myself: I would definitely rage if they somehow release a "Ultimate Homura" (albeit I don't see it as outstanding as Madokami, I have a soft spot for her so), but even if I pre-order her, I have no clue whichever is the best course of action between Big in Japan, Hobby Search and GSC website.
Big in Japan is the only shop that allows undervalue for customs declaration, Hobby search is currently halving the shipping cost until 15th june, and GSC use their fixed 2000 yens EMS (but you are raped by a full blown 14800yen price tag).

So it is really up to the shipping cost (size and weight) and the damn customs...
Well at least, something is certain: it is EMS or Sal Parcel, and considering her value, SAL sounds like pushing your luck to no end.

I will skipping the MadoKami as i cant afford 14k + shipping cost + custom cost...
Oooh the dilemma...

All my friends that collecting figures bet that she will be a rare item that can boost up to 4-5x her price tag now...

Yes, customs.. I'm sure the customs in my country are salivating when they see packages from japanese online stores. Once threatened a corrupt customs employee that I know a policeman (and I do know one), with that I got some "discount" on the tax - but it's probably something that will only work once.

Anyway, the money that will be spent on November (in claiming the package at customs) is for Madoka. So I don't mind.

Well, with the current "preorder market" most figures are hardly 'overproduced'

and as most of us who've been collecting for a while noticed, there's usually nothing left on shelves at a retailer shortly after release

Figuremanufacturers are living in golden times

Develop prototype->advertise->take preorders->mass produce->sell

No need to produce more than ordered, working though 3rd party factories means no ongoing cost of labour/production

if preorders are too low to cover targeted revenue, the figures simply gets delayed
If demand exceeds production, wait and rerelease on preorder basis again
(always smart to wait for raw materials/transport costs to lower, or currency to change in your favor)

The Madoka figure won't sell out too quickly though because she is on made to order until August 1st.

I mean she might sell out at the cheaper retailers but you probably have until August to decide if you want her if you are willing to pay the GSC price.

And in the case of Excalibur Triumphant Saber, repeat this step multiple times.
