L is my favorite character, so it's sad to see him gone..
I hope part 2 of DN without L has the same quality in terms of storyline.

And from the looks of episode 24 the writing is still there. So yes, you'd think they'd have an expert check the handwriting against Light's. Unless Light was smart enough to try to alter his handwriting. He might do that...but I find it hard to believe he would have done that the first couple of times he used it. Just because he didn't even really believe the thing would work, he was just goofing off because he was bored.
I don’t think they were ripped off from the death Note, and seriously, who would blame Light even if the handwritings were exactly similar? The fake rule of the 13 days clears Light completely of suspicious, to that point, if you compared it to Light Hand Writing the most logical conclusion would be someone with handwriting similar to Light. and at this point doing a Hand writing check is similar to do a Fingerprint check, a needlesley effort.

He could also had ripped of the pages when he didn’t knew the DN worked, and then Change the Handwriting, but I doubt it.

This episode is the birth of the DN Yaoi fanfiction movement, I would put money on it.

Other than that, it was a god damned good episode. I knew something bad was coming by the way L was acting

Spoiler for L:

This episode added a lot of stuff that wasn't in the manga, I'm quite surprised. Like the intimacy between L and Raito... lol.

I also think so...

But, wouldn't L recognize the ripped pages before recognizing the little cuts from the papers..?

Wow the added filler in this episode really changed my mind about Light being right. In the manga I was almost cheering for Light to win, but now in the anime it's the opposite they make Light seem much more evil.

Ahem.

EDIT

Also, Don't the writings of the person who owned the deathnote disappear when the writer gives up/loses possession of the deathonte?

What were you expecting? Do you want Light and Misa to give up their life of crime, move to another country, and abruptly end the story there? Perhaps you're not quite asking for the right vibes from Death Note. It's always been a series about Light trying to become, essentially, a God, and those who dared to stand in his way.

It's not like the plot suddenly took a big U-turn and came out with something none of us were (eventually) expecting; this has been coming for a long while, and if you didn't quite get the hint from the past 24 episodes, I'm afraid you haven't been paying enough attention.

I ment to say this is where it reaches critical mass, and was to lazy to edit my post to rectify.

Yeah, the new scenes definitely make Light look way more evil. And like I said, they make L look way more sympathetic.

Spoiler:

Of course none of this changes my mind about Light. Still feel the same way.

I've been thinking about this for a while.

Why didn't Rem kill Light off as well? His death shouldn't have affected Misa's life span anyway. I mean, it's clear Rem doesn't like Light at all , so she could firstly write his name in Death Note, then Watari's , then L. If a shinigami can love a human , it should also be able to feel the urge for revenge.

Yes but then Misa would loose her reason to live. She loves Light so much she would probably commit a suicide and Rem wouldnt want that to happen

I almost don't want to believe what happened to L. He deserved so much more. The truly sad part is he thought he had finally found the one thing he was looking for his whole life, a friend. Lets start a petition to get him cameos in every major anime that is made in the future!

It's weird for a long time I've been rooting for Light, hoping that he would win the battle between L and himself and now...
