Excuse me? I remember that both of the above lines are spoken by Koizumi, and I translated as such. It suits his ambiguous sexuality very well that way.

And judging from Kyon's subsequent narration showing how much he was freaked out by it, more or less points to Koizumi being the originator of that line rather than Haruhi.

There's more going on than meets the eye, from this passage from volume 7, chapter 2:

Tsuruya-san jumped again. She turned back to face the front door, towing her long hair behind.
"It's impossible to find out every secret for every thing on this planet. I'm busy enough with my own devices as it is."
She turned her head around and said something I'll never forget.
"Kyon-kun, you have to work hard. The future of mankind rests on you!"
Said Tsuruya-san. The corners of her mouth slightly moved, and she stared at me for a while. Then, as if she couldn't hold it in any longer, she started to laugh. From that unevil, child-like laughter, I got the feeling this cheerful Senpai's words was just a joke.
Tsuruya-san continued to laugh until her belly hurt. Then, she wiped the side of her eyes and said,
"Well, Mikuru will always follow you! But, don't be mischievous. That's the one thing that's not allowed. If you wish to be mischievous, do it to Haru-nyan. Just my intuition. Mhm, I'm sure she'll always forgive you!"
This should be the only serious part of her speech. Don't know why, but I just had a thought like that. I didn't actually plan on doing anything.

What does she actually know? It's inferred that she knows more than an ordinary bystander would (pity that Kyon missed it ). Makes you wonder if Tsuruya-san is the "sidekick" that Kyon was wanting to be...
Heck, I wouldn't be too surprised if she is the slider.

Tsuruya's family is a supporter of the Organization. Now how would the Tsuruya's family know about Haruhi's abilities? How do the Organization get their supporters?

Anyway Asahina's meant to go to the past makes sense (can't believe I didn't figured this one out myself).

We go from fixing the Volume 4 past, to talking about the other alien entity (and Asahina going "zomg" at something...), to Haruhi acting passive, to some undecipherable quest from one week in the future, to Tsuruya, to speculation about changing the future...

I'm confused by the amount of 'conflict' between the Espers and the Time Travelers... But with Haruhi controlling herself in recent times, I guess they don't have anything better to do.

In any case, very interesting, but where does it all come together?

This could refer to an occurrence later in the book, I don't know for sure. That's why I framed it as a question. Not to mention the cryptic thing she said when Kyon left her house....

You're missing my point. Koizumi's speech clearly indicates that whatever she might be, she isn't an esper, like him, which is what you seemed to be assuming. Adding ", eh?" to the end of your sentence doesn't count as framing it as a question.

I'm more open to her being something else. This story already has one esper.

Then the next obvious questions would be:

1. Then what is she?
2. What does she know?
3. And, how does she know it?

Well, she claimed in Snow Mountain Syndrome that she was just an ordinary person. Ordinary person just like Kyon, in any case. Her ordinariness might be her extraordinary characteristic. :P She could just be particularly smart, and her family's vague association with the 'Organization' couldn't hurt.

Of course, it's about time a slider shows up, or the humanoid interface for the other beings... Speaking of which, any speculation on why Asahina got shocked during the discussion of the latter? That's what got be wondering if that's what she could be.
