As I posted before, the anime staff is leaving out important stuff, as well as modifying some things. The end of episode 4 basically jumps from manga chapter 6 to manga chapter 8, skipping chapter 7 entirely.

Spoiler for important missing content from manga chapter 7 which was completely skpped over by the anime:

Wow that is a good missing scene. Sucks that they skip it.

They might make it clear what is happening in the next episode or two, hopefully, but I'm not holding my breath.

You call that important?

I dunno about you, but I see every little of value lost with what was cut.

This is a show with episodes that run 3 minutes 30 seconds in length, they have to keep the plot moving to get anywhere and that means cutting out stuff that doesn't advance the story quickly.

Manga is not anime, they have different "languages" requiring a different approach to plotting and timing. Same with books and films.

I'm enjoying it, not an absolute favourite but pleasant enough to watch. Not read the manga though.

I read a spoiler that I though was way to strange to be true.
After episode 5... looks like it's true.
DAMN... never saw that one before.

Well, finally caught up with the series (ep 6) and hafta say it is pretty good for a short.... Has me wondering whether or no it would do well with 11 or 12 full length anime eps. Hmm.

I like it and I do think it could fare pretty well in a longer format. But it serves mostly as a reminder of how good Hi Score Girl is going to be if some studio doesn't screw it up. If they make that one short-length, I'll be sorely pissed off.

Well, ep 7 was okay.

Must admit the part about the drunken style kung fu imitation had me giggling until the poor girl fell flat on her face. That musta really hurt. Not that I approve of the bullying (why do they draw their faces to look so scary!) but still... looked painful.

With ep 8 it was nice to see a little breaking of the ice... but while the ed played for the ep is all good and fine and whatnot, for some reason it feels a little out of place.

Oh ho? Ep 9 contains some interesting foreshadowings.... Hmm. Am curious to see where the story will go now.

Oh, and for some reason the ed fit a little better this week, but I still don't get it.

That ED... Some of the worst Engrish ever, and that's saying something.

Still - the show itself continues to be surprisingly dark and a little twisted. But that's Oshikiri Rensuke...

Ep 10 conclusion kinda surprised me. Anyone else reminded of Clannad?

Okay, ep 12 was a classic example of what I feel to be the best of this short series. Just good stuff, intetesting setting and even kinda thought provoking.

This anime seems to be getting too dark for a simple show for kids.

This is probably like one of those bizarre shows you watch as a kid and later remember as a adult and think "what the heck was I watching back then??"

I don't recall this ever being labeled as a show for kids, unless horror comedies are suddenly kid's stuff nowadays.

Puppio has not been labeled as a kids' show that I know of, but, if my pre-teen grandkids are any gauge, yes, horror comedies are kids' stuff nowadays.

Wrong. Although Puppio is rated PG, your interpretation of the rating system is not accurate.

The rating system does not determine who, or what age group the specific show is made for. It is simply a guide for parents to help them decide whether or not their children should be allowed to watch the specific show. In the case of PG:

Quote:
PG – Parental Guidance Suggested
Some material may not be suitable for children. Parents are urged to give parental guidance as the motion picture contains some material that parents might not find suitable for their pre-teenagers.
Whether or not a specific show is designed for kids is determined by the makers of the show, not by the rating system itself.

Besides, G - General Audiences would be more like to imply that the show was made for kids.

It's too bad that there isn't that much source material (only 3 volumes) since this is pretty good for such a short series. I wouldn't mind seeing more but it ended in 2009.

To tell the truth, at the start of this series I had absolutely no idea that it could have so much depth and be anywhere near as actually MOVING as it was by the end.

It just goes to show how you can make something worthwhile in this short format.
