The PV is here!!! can't wait...it certainly sounds like the gong has started! Accel is cool...but Touma looks more badass with HQ than the 1st season! Finally Itsuwa makes a Debut! Im a fan ItsuwaXTouma!/but KaoriXTouma is the best!

Academy City itself looks stunning (seriously, it looks even better than S1 which is saying something) so I'm expecting the other backgrounds to be just as good looking. We can see some of the scenery outside AC in the PV and it looks amazing imo. Actually, I'd go so far as to say Index has some of the best background art in any anime.

surely Touma will be part of the best male lead if they keep the promise to follow the LN all the way! well TAMNI will probably be at top 10 anime to watch out for! aHHhhhhhhhh MOooooOHHH! gaman dekine! i want summer to end!

I doubt they'll be able to keep the novels intact perfectly. I think the directors meant that we won't have a Shana S2 or ZnT situation where the studio puts in tons of filler and barely concentrates on the plot of the novel. A good amount of content will probably be cut from volumes 8 and 12 and a lot of unneeded dialog from the other novels.

Actually, I wouldn't want them to animate the novel perfectly, sure all the important major points and maybe some small charming scenes, but it'll be nice to see some things done differently. My experience is that an Anime that does everything exactly like the original, would also be as less entertaining as an Anime that has rewrite the entire material.

As a purist, i personally prefer if it follows the original closely - you already know what happens, now it's time to see how it looks like in action instead of just abstract images in your head.

I see what Chaos is saying though. A Light Novel is a light novel and an anime is an anime; you have to take a different approach to each one. Keeping things as pure as possible from the light novel in an anime might not translate over that well since a novel is meant for "lol text" while an anime is about the visual appeal with a bit of talking and explanation on the side. That's actually the main complaint people have about Index S1; too much talking not enough action.

I got to agree too. The novel is good but the anime is meant for action and not some endless talk. Hearing touma talk with his garness is good. But punching the enemy while he talking is better.

Yeah, I'm hoping the director learned a bit from S1 and focuses more on the action aspect than the long expositions, although I've heard that was simply unavoidable due to everything that had to be explained in the first 6 novels and they were basically one long explanation for the relations between AC and the magic society.

Doubt it. Most likely, at the end of this new season, they will show teaser scenes of what is going to happen in the next one, just like they did in the first season.
