It'd be truly disappointing if Chao just turned out to be a liar. It'd mean a lot of things would have to be re-explained and re-looked into again to verify the truth about them, and Negima as a series isn't getting any younger, neither is Akamatsu.

You forgot?! She's the class rep of 3-A, one of the main characters of the group, if you put it in a certain perspective. I think it's pretty likely that all the students will be involved with him and know the truth by the end of the series. Every arc that has happened has added 5-6 more students to the list that know. Ayaka was also investigating Negi's father and they even were staying at a negi's cousin's place after the group went to the magic world. If anyone had a chance to discover something about Evangeline or the "magic is real" secret it was Ayaka.
