Monir it is time to pull some strings in the moderator's forum and convince the rest to create a HxH sub forum!

P.S I swear that my long crusade to give this series and Saint Seiya more recognition with the animesuki community have absolutely nothing to do with my suggestion.

I never noticed that Hunterpedia said "Fin" instead of "Next"! Wonder if it is gone for real or only on a break?

The only thing that nippon did better was Paku's death. It was more emotional iyam.

You know Shinobi, with each comparison I'm noticing less and less bias. Not sure if it's because it went to the OVA's rather than the TV series, but I kind of like the subtle change.

I can learn from my past mistakes, can I?

Overall the OVA did a better job and was more detailed.

it certainly was more detailed, but the pacing of GI can be painfully slow at the start so its very subjective wich did better, there is only one bit that was omitted in the madhouse adaptation that do really have relevance.

for ep 62, I think Biscuit's normal design is better in MH's adaptation, but man, those anger faces in the Nippon one are hilarious !

Couple corrections made:

Quote:
Prison (Fortress in Viz’s manga translation)(Manga & Madhouse only). The card was obscured in chapter 132, but we get to see it up close in chapter 143

Quote:
Radio Rat. We don't get to see it up close in Madhouse's adaptation. And it looks like it got a different design.

Madhouse sacrificed detail for pacing.

I suppose it's a choice to make. I for one am glad I already read the manga and seen the original anime. While this is fine for me, madhouse-only watchers may feel like they're missing out.

Well, if they never read the manga or watched the ovas, then they sadly have no idea about the amount of things they're missing out lately.
Sure it's faster, and young kids must prefer it this way, but all the Togashi-ism about GI and its mechanics is feeling very simplified, and that's part of what makes his style of storytelling stand out.

Anyway, this week's episode had some weird censorship. They got away with so much more in York Shin but it seems they're going back to the old standards now.

Censorship? Where? Was there even any violence this ep?

Anyway, I meant like, rules of greed island and such. They're skipping over quite a lot of exposition such as the trick to winning Rock-Paper-Scissors.

They censored the description of Binolt. In the manga (and probably the OVA, I can't remember), he was a cannibal serial killer whose favorite dish was the flesh of 22 year-old women (which is why he has a weird nen ability like eating hair to get info on people's bodies: he's a connoisseur). It's not a huge change, but it does put Gon's willingness to forgive him in a very different perspective.

What's more distressing about the change is what it might mean for future arcs, where such disturbing imagery can't really be avoided.

Well his ability does make sense now. Also, it's still being shown as a kiddie/teen title so cannibals just aren't going to be allowed imo.
