Got my Sony PSP to play DIVX

I'm a first time poster on this forum and why not start by showing you guys what I was able to do with my PSP. It also plays mp3s but I wouldn't be able to show you that

Welcome to two weeks ago. We've been expecting you.

Oh, and just for correction, unless you've uncovered some other Marvel of USB Transfer on your own, it technically isn't DivX. It's Microsoft's actual licensed MPEG-4 codec (which DivX is a hacked, free version of)

Who cares, it's still hot, another reason for me to get one.

On topic, anybody knows a program to lower the resoluion of an .AVI file.
From 640*480 to say 320*240 for example. That way I can fit more onto a 512 MB memory stick, like af Full Feature XViD encoded movie.

Wow, this is cool

Even if I did have a psp I wouldn't do this though, because I already have a portable dvd player (that has a bigger screen than the psp) ^_^

VirtualDub is a good free one. Use it to lower the resolution, put the resulting .avi file through whatever MPEG-4 converter is mentioned here to make it in .mp4 format, and transfer it to your memory stick.

Unless there's a more direct way to do it that I don't know of. *shrug*
