Let's hope they don't ruin this so we can get a second season...although the fan service may make this unwatchable soon enough.

Just imagine if HOTD director directed Wolverine...Elecktra and Pyslocke will be very bouncy.

Im actually looking on the bright side i think madhouse is doing a great job so far and im going to have some faith that they wont do some crappy original ending. They have been pretty faithful to the manga so far.

Madhouse by the looks of it seems pretty good at going along with the manga so far for HOTD, but I really do hope they don't do a (Anime Original) like most of you commented... I would rather see the manga version animated then see a Anime Original ending

Then they go from OMG GREATNESS INCARNATE to WTF is THIS SHI- If history repeat itself, considering which arc where it should end, I'll be so freaking pissed!

Soul Eater was the same. When that series diverged the quality dropped, and boy was that a fail end to an awesome series. I'm still hoping for a Claymore remake. They could make a second season but pick up at the start of Pieta or something. But returning to the topic, I think they can end this openly. I'm not sure what the manga is and all, but this is one series where it's almost impossible to conclude at all. I mean, it's an apocalypse, the only way out is to leave the planet, lol.

Actually just because it is an apocalypse it does not mean there is no recovering from it. There is a really good Zombie Apocalypse scenario (about as realistic as you can get being a Zombie Apocalypse) that was written a few years ago: World War Z (See Wiki article for summary: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_Z). There the world war against Zombies was fought and eventually won. Arguably the zombies from that book are even worse then HSOT zombies since they auto home in on any living human and can call other zombies to them when they locate the living. At least here they only attract to sound. The author have done a lot of research into the subject and built a convincing world. It is much harder to fight zombies then HSOT made it out to look. A single swing from baseball bat generally do not break skull easily and very few rare individuals have the skill and accuracy with guns that is displayed here. Conventional armies failed to battle against zombies using conventional tactics and weapon(JSDF would not been useful at all.) Ocean also do not stop zombies, nor does fire. That policies the governments around the world adopted in order to survive are far worse then what the police have to do here in the last a couple episodes. The mangaka could really benefit a lot from that book if he continues this series.
