Dark Anime - Been gone for a few years

Hey guys, I haven't watched much anime for the past 2 years or so and I was wondering if there is anything new out there I ought to watch? I'm looking for one of those adult themed, dark/violent, story driven animes. Some of my favourites:

Death Note
Monster
Full Metal Alchemist / Brotherhood
Claymore
Berserk / new berserk movie
Gantz
Basilisk
Evangelion
Ergo Proxy
Twelve Kingdoms
Darker than Black

I just started watching Spaceship Yamato 2199, and it's rather good too. I've found it tough finding new animes in the past, as it seems like since the mid 00's they slowly started to shift away from dark/dramas to more fluffy stuff. Oh wells.

Thanks for your help1

Here's what I have.

Phantom: Requiem of the Phantom, Deadman Wonderland, Fate/Zero, and Puella Magi Madoka Madoka (Don't let this title fool you, it gets way too dark later on in the series). So what do you think?

I definitely recommend Kurozuka. It's a bit confusing towards the end but that's what I like about it. It makes you think. Also, Gunslinger Girl.

If you've never watched "Bakeneko," the final arc of Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales, and its sequel Mononoke, these should be high on your list.

You might like Claymore as well. I'll also suggest Mouryou no Hako. That links to a torrent I've not seen for this show; the original releases have vanished into the ether.

Shiki
Mardock Scramble
Phantom:requiem for the phantom
Fate/Zero (make sure to get the Uncensored bluray version)
and yes Madoka Magica is definitely not what it looks like

Maybe try out Mirai Nikki and Another too, though the latter is more like a slasher thriller but there's gore in both of those.
Or maybe Zetman too

It's 4 years old so maybe you know it but I'd recommend Shigofumi as well

My issue with Deadman wonderland is that the adaptation is incomplete and I don't see a S2 coming but it'd fit as well.

I highly recommend you to watch the following titles :
Blassreiter
Blade of the Immortal
Kurozuka
Phantom -Requiem of the Phantom-
Shiki
Psychic Detective Yakumo
Puella Magi Madoka Magica (don't be fooled by the first two episodes, it really gets pick up right after these)
Deadman Wonderland
Fate/Zero (Make sure to watch the Blu-Ray version)
The Future Diary
Another
Zetman

There were also three upcoming animes you could watch these after finishing the previous ones :
BTOOOM!!
From the New World
Psycho-Pass

If you like the new series Muv Love Total Eclipse, or something similar to that genre (basically humanity striving to survive against aliens; gore, drama, horror/dark/sadness) then I would recommend an old school one, Blue Gender. I personally don't like gorey-type/horror anime but for some reason I really like Blue Gender and Muv Love
