Actually, I don't care.
But I think it's wrong ranking someone by their number of posts, since, like people have adressed before, there are people who post a lot just to increase their post counter. I have a great number of posts (about 1400) but people know the majority of them were dedicated to real discussions (specially at the Naruto and One Piece forums), after all. But you really can't rank someone by their number of posts. There are a lot of people with low number of posts that are nicer and a lot more intelligent than people who have an enormous number of posts and who post only to increase their number of posts Take it off, but leave it at the profile It's better this way, after all So, I voted for Yes. |

I actually found myself looking over to where the post count was when I didnt like someone's post, thinking ' tch..who is this person?' I didnt even know I used post counts for such eeevil!! So..I'm kind of glad theyre viewable in profile only now, it makes it more of a counter rather than something I can glance over at and make assumptions with -_- |

I agree with Tzurial. It's about the quality of posts, not quantity of posts. I guess the best example I can come up with is kj1980. He may have quite a number of posts, but most of his posts are highly informative, or make a striking point. Which is why I (and I assume, most people) hold him in such high esteem.
Are forums without post counts that unusual? Battle.net forums has NO post counts whatsoever. Gonegold forums are now much the same way as our forums; post counts only displayed in profiles. (Which is main reason I frequent those forums). Anyways...I'm very pleased that post counts are somewhat removed (now only hidden in the profiles). Now I can finally change my title...as soon as I can find some interesting words . Last edited by Muir Woods; 2004-05-04 at 22:05. Reason: Grammar...and added a smiley :) |

I don't necessarily have a fit with post counts. But I certainly understand some of the frustrations some of the members on this board are having.
I do sort of see some people with high post counts acting pompous; writing out their words as if their words are fact. And they like to intentionally make others who make mistakes feel unworthy of their predecessors. So all in all, I say down with the post counts!!!!! Side Note: Leave Jappi alone.... At least he's one of the dedicated members who support Anime Suki and keep it alive. Honestly I don't think he's done anything wrong. After all, he did just post in the General Chat area. There's no harm in that, is there? Last edited by LazyFace; 2004-05-05 at 00:16. |

the forums i know all have post counters, because everyone seems to be mature enough to handle themselves, and control for themselves the quality of posts they produce. and those who were not were banned. |

It seems that the majority has spoken. I was confused when I could no longer see the post counts...
It's cool. It allows you to judge people on the forum based on the contents of their posts instead of their post count. |

As Superchop mentioned before the post counts are still visible in the users profiles. So there was no elimination at all. Edit: I was just thinking , the average of "posts in a day" option they added in the profile next to the post count could be an intresting way to replace it.
