Yeah since the sex was never stated before episode4 I always imagined it was a male children. Actually not just me alone, so many people posting theirs speculations used the word "grandson" instead of "grandchild". When I saw "daughter" instead of "son" it was somewhat strange °°;

I have a small problem concerning Umineko patch, so I hope this is the right place to ask. Just finished reading Episode 4 (Thanks for the translation!) and now I'd like to boot the game to it's original state, so that only Episode 1 is open for play and background image is the Rokkenjima Mansion from the start and so on. I first tried to delete the translation patch and install it again, but that didn't work. Then I deleted the patch, uninstalled the game using the Umineko DVD and installed everything again. Still didn't work. Then I noticed that even if I uninstall the game it leaves two files there that might contain the save data, so I deleted those files after uninstalling everything and still when I start the game it's not a clean start, but the Episodes 1-4 have been read, Tea Parties 1-4 and ?????? 1-4 are there and so is the music box. If I start the actual game, and not the translation, it's a clean start so the problem I'm having is clearly with the patch. So... Where does it get that save data from?

As said many times, they aren't in the patch folder or anything of that kind.
Generally speaking, you have to go through to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\umineko4final be warned that application data is a hidden folder, so you have to enable their display in the folder options. And then, you just have to delete global.sav

A totally different matter to bring up:
After such a memorable motivation boost (borderline a riot) from Ryukishi07, we, Witch Hunt, decided that we should do something a bit "similar" to our favourite author. Therefore, we thought, we thought and... we found that the best way to encourage an author of Ryukishi's caliber is probably to show our "love" for Umineko. What's better than having the game? Showing where the games are, especially when it is FAR away from its homeland! The 4 corners of the world has acknowledged the legend of the Golden Witch! Let us pray for yet another challenging episode!

My only suggestion is to downsize the scale of the pictures so the entire map won't be so cluttered - there are undoubtedly people from all over the world who are playing this. Another idea that you could use to show love is to categorize the countries, and translate tiny messages from the fans of those countries. This is done by clicking on the flags of the map, and a textbox (in the form of an old letter, going by the design concept) would appear. A bit more work, but that's one suggestion. |
