The opening scene has become Lord Genome's past story. Kid Lord Genome indeed looks like Nia
-The Chouginga Razengan that appears in the past story
-The first half is basically the same as the TV version. Certain places were skipped.
-Episodes 4-6 are shown as sort of a reminiscence of meeting the Black Siblings, Rossiu, Gimmy, and Darry
-Yoko has original scenes added into places such as staying up all night studying, and a scene taking from the footage of the early OP

-To make up for there not being much of episodes 9-10, Simon's broken state is given a stronger impression and Nia’s loveliness is completely reanimated to make her look wiser, more innocent, more kind, and more… well, lovely
-Nia introduces herself to the Dai-Gurren-dan on her own as the "Helix King's First Princess Nia"
-After which Simon gives Nia a horrible glare (Nia goes to apologizes to him, and asks him to kill her if he truly hates her that much, he ends up crying on her chest)

-Nia's strength is emphasized, not only when dealing with Simon and Yoko but also she stands against the entire army all by herself and demands an audience with Guame
-Viral rides a new mecha called "Daiganzandu". It's a Enkidu-like Daiganzan.
-Simon climbs up Shuzack to rescue Nia
-Starting with King Kittan DX, all of the second string Gunmen pilots are given a stronger impression
-Yoko VS Adiane
-The Four Generals' battleships combine. Viral takes Thymilph's place.
-To fight against them, Simon and Nia use, with the help of the entire Dai-Gurren-Dan, "Giga Drill Break Special" and crush the Four Generals
-Yoko rides a Gunmen named Yoko M Tank for a little while. It's a pink Dayakkaiser.
-Nia stands in front of Kamina's grave, talks to him about Simon. It’s probably the best new scene of the movie, the 2channer that wrote this review was crying.
-Movie ends with Teppelin being revealed as a giant Ganmen

Well, I'm reading the 2ch thread.... seems from many that Yoko left a greater impression in the movie than Simon and Nia.... bah I suppose since the next movie will be Simon/Nia centered, I guess I'll let this one go...

Still many praises for Nia scenes in the movie, I'd be looking forward to that.

Movie2 for Nia and Simon

Well, Yoko's bikini top is cut in half by Adiane (and she receives some serious beating by A.)... and the following scenes are indeed sexy, until Boota delivers Yoko her top (now fixed) back. It's more like a push-up after that .
For my taste, too much reused footage. If you don't know the series, you won't get along with the movie. Very fast pacing, and the fight between Gurren-Lagann and the Dotengaizan is a little bit disappointing. Giga Drill Breaker, boom, over. They spent much time on the scene with Nia, Simon and Yoko after Kamina's death, when S. dabbles in statuary.
Nice if you like the series, but in my opinion not a must-see.

The results from Ikebukuro's Cinema Sunshine is that in the first two days, 4140 people attended, with box-office takings of 6.57 million yen, the theater packed to capacity and people having to stand in many showings.

Yesterday`s afternoon showing was only half-full, but some goods were already sold out.

Actually, I`m a little bit surprised that the GL movie is only shown in 3 cinemas over the whole Kantou area (according to tomorrow`s cinema schedule, printed in the Daily Yomiuri).

I caught the film this evening, and the theater was pretty full.

The movie wasn't bad at all. The Lord Genome bit at the beginning was the best part, and there wasn't much new footage till the last 20-25 minutes where the entire story changes.

Otherwise though it was very cool. And the eyecatches were awesome.
