First reading the seiyuu cast.. I dont know anyone but Himegami's .. who voiced Haruna Sairenji ... Hopefully the big names arrive with that group.

And listening to the 2nd preview, its gonna take a bit of time to get use to it.. Hopefully, its like sekirei's casts.. where I end up liking Marina Inoue's potrayal of Tsukiumi.

Back for the season.. but its mostly for Ika Musume TBH .. thats the only series with Rie Rie

This, Ika Musume and Neighbourhood club are the only series catched my interest this season.. maybe gundam too.. but the char design was a bit shotaish? kiddyish? Is that a word?

Takeru Ohyama, a young normal yet perverted minded guy, got accepted and now goes to a school that, unknown to him, was where combat and magic is used. On the first day, he meets again after three years: Haruko Amaya, his childhood friend, Inaho Kushiya, a girl who says she's his fiance, and Kodama Himegami, a blonde who wants to kill him. Finding out that there are many girls there that just don't like him, he is told that everyone there uses a special magic ability while using an item or weapon called a Maken. Later, he finds that no Maken is acceptable for him and doesn't know what to do, since in this school the students get into duels that showcase their magic and combat power, to which he seemingly has none.

^ it's like this. They put too much effort into it that I don't feel any character in the character. I haven't read the manga yet but knowing the mangaka who drew fantastic eromanga I knew his/her style is good but really from the comments I see in the story. It doesn't impress me. I will wait until I saw the anime and give it at least 3-5 episode for judgement but this anime just reeks of total fanservice that I wish it has decent story. I heard that the MC is weak at first but gone strong which is good for me but I will still hold back my judgement until I know further details like why he fights or why he tries to become strong though I can probably judge if his surrounded by strong beautiful girls the reason of him becoming strong and if my hunch is correct... >.> I get disappointed fast.

Well I love this series simply cause of it's service and what not but you won't get any agruement from me about the story rather meh or poor, wise enough to know that.
And yes I do understand peoples want of a good story with any anime series, I'm the same but there are times where I can just switch off my brain and enjoy the fun
this would probably be one of them times

I kinda doubt it but I sure hope Aki shows up in one of them megami/nynatype images later on, she's sooooooo <3.
I can only hope we get to a certain point involving her cause I love that part lol.

That was horrible. Every SINGLE annoying harem cliche is here: wimpy lead with some secret potentia. All girls fall for him for NO reason. Girls move in with him for NO REASON. Childhood friend has big boobs and is jealous. Guy gets punched in the face all the time. Sorry.... PASS!

Spoiler for Maken-ki 01 - Instant Harem:

Schools that engage in magical combat are a dime a dozen in Japan, aren't they? Anyway, the first episode pretty firmly establishes the show's genre, so now things must start being considered within that genre. I have... er... "familiarized" myself with the author's work, so I'll be on the lookout for some of the recurring themes here.

The character design is unique. I'm not sure about the head proportions, but the bodies certainly have some meat on them. The archetypes are fairly standard, but the way they're presented is something uncommon. Since she's the first and last one the camera focuses on, this may very well be Haruko's show, her story. That could just be a first episode thing, but her journey alongside Takeru's could make for a fairly engaging presentation. No OP, but we did get the ED. Fairly catchy.

The world still needs some building, but the groundwork's been laid, at least. Let's see what happens beyond that foundation.

Yes, every cliche in the book. But I enjoyed ep1. It flowed pretty well, and the characters seemed humane, despite the cliches and the fanservice, which was mechanical and obvious, when it wasn't censored. The voice acting was good, especially the wonderful Yahagi Sayuri as the girl with long blonde twintails (Himegami). This show falls into a definite genre, so any excellence it may have should come from how things are done rather than what is done.
