To be honest I thought the interaction of Risa and Izumi when they first met at the pool was a broad hint. Izumi being pissed off by a girl like never before? The classic irony of the bishie player falling for the girl that pisses him off and doesn't respond to him like he's used to is written all over here.
So while we're at side characters right now, I could see a filler chapter with those two at some point.

I don't know why, but I'm really rooting for a Risa and Izumi pairing. I thought maybe my bias was causing me to see hints of a potential relationship, so I'm glad someone else sees foreshadowing in recent chapters!

On a side note, I'm pretty irritated with Utsumi for doing what he did. He knows Risa likes him, and he keeps trying to be the "nice guy" which just gives her hope at the same time.

but utsumi is supposed to be the nice guy for the story to continue , just like many other harem mangas, ichigo 100% and sch days. but if he were the decisive, then he probably wouldnt have to go through all those

I don't think GE is a harem series according to manga/anime standards. To me there's more than the number of girls that like the protagonist to it.
For example harem series assumes the members of a harem to be conscious of their rivals and coexist with them until the harem lead makes his/her final decision.
However all the three girls at some point backed off from Utsumi when they thought of someone else as a rival, and they all more or less became despaired and discouraged when that happened.
I'd rather think of it as a lead-centered polygon.

You're right about Utsumi being the nice guy archetype that is often part of harem series though.

You're right about Utsumi being the nice guy archetype that is often part of harem series though.

He's different to the rest though. He's very decisive at times and on top of that, he never stands for the girls treating him badly. So he has the nice guy persona, but not the doormat one that usually comes with harem characters.

His problem is he thinks he can get Kurokawa without hurting the other girls. He needs to realise it's impossible. No matter what he does, two girls are going to be hurt. He needs to accept that and move on. I mean 50 was a VERY timely chance for him to subtely get Risa to give up.

Yeah, but they're a staple of all manga. Just look at Akari from KNIM, Yasunobu from Suzuka, Teratani from I"s (one of the best friends of the male lead in any manga I've seen), etc. There has to be someone to balance the male leads incompetence or wandering loins. :P

Yeah, I know that. But sometimes there are too many supporting characters like that and they are too smart sometimes too. They are teenagers too.

I'd bank on Izumi being thrown under the bus so to speak to take Risa out of the running. If I didn't know any better he seemed somewhat jealous of Utsumi, but that's just my own assumption...

Well this kinda sets them up as a possible future couple, although she tends to also hang out with Izumi alot too.

The annoying thing though is that despite this, Kurokawa is still going to misunderstand. Utsumi doesn't do himself any favours though. It's not like he did anything wrong, it's just that he seems to think even thinking of other girls in passing is bad. I'm interested to see just HOW Yuki is going to respond though (cause she blatantly thinking they went off for a steamy session of something). And now that she's so emotionally invested, it would be nice to see something out of her rather than her just blanking Utsumi.

I've always liked Risa, but she is getting to be obsessive. I hope the author has her drop the seduction campaign now. Utsumi rejected her clearly, and her character is in danger of becoming pathetic.
