Welcome to the weekly manga chapter discussion thread. This thread is created early to discuss spoilers and speculation about the upcoming chapter.

As per the forums rules, please don't ask for or mention about where to download the (licensed) manga. Also remember not to post or link to any translations of the manga, since this is illegal as well. Posting a synopses or summary is fine (and welcome) but please do not discuss scans, raws, translation groups, etc.

Remember that the manga is licensed, do not post significant part of the chapters. This stands for pictures and direct translations. Summaries are ok, crops of pictures are ok as well if you want to illustrate your point but this is it.

Some interesting spoilers are out (there is even one that has the Uchiha clan asking to be segregated ), but so far nothing seems that spectactular for a 400th chapter. So, maybe, there will be a new popularity poll, which would make up for a lackluster chapter (not that this is a lackluster chapter, I have no idea if it is, but if it ends up being more suggestive, if well written, discussion, adding a popularity poll could spice things up (then again, I have seen no idication that a new popularity poll is in the works)).

Actually Itachi's true past has a lot of potential to be quite spectacular. Maybe we'll get a treat ^_^. Fukitsu why wouldn't Itachi's past have significant importance? Though 300 wasn't particularly special, Sasuke first appeared. This will probably be another milestone or turning point. However you like to see it.

Itachi was a spy (from Uchiha) to ANBU, but he leaked (Uchiha’s) information to the village side. He was a double spy.

So he killed Uchiha clan. He had no choice.

The third Hokage tried to reconcile, but it was late. And the night came.

To be a rogue Ninja was a part of the order.

But Itachi made one mistake.

He couldn’t kill his brother.

He asked the third to protect Sasuke and threatened Danzou not to lay a hand on Sasuke and he left village

Itachi planed to give his power to Sasuke and die from the first.

there's also a spoiler out there that says Itachi and Kakashi didn't activate their MS by killing their best friend, which I think is BS cause why would Madara tell Sasuke that. It doesn't fit, I'll keep looking for a confirmed spoiler and post it here

He (Itachi) accepted his fate as he embarked on his mission.
To sacrifice himself...this was his mission.

In order to have stability in the "village", Konoha put up a false image.
The person with the leading role was Itachi.
To observe/supervise the movements of the ex-rivals, the Uchihas, and at the same time arranged to ensure the stability of the village.
The head of the Uchiha clan only let his guard down in front of his son, Itachi.
His (Itachi's) biggest mission was to ensure the harmony between Uchiha and Konoha.
Konoha and Uchiha can be said to be on good terms.
However, an unthinkable incident took place.
A mystery hanged in the past in Konoha of which someone tried to kidnap the baby in which Kyuubi was sealed.
However, the plan ended in failure.
However, the Uchihas requested to be segregated from Konoha.
In response to that, it seemed that the Uchiha clan once again was plotting a coup d'etat, and even Itachi could not stop them.
Neither could he abort the initial plan to ensure stability in the "village".
The mission's scenario was greatly changed.
To ensure the peace in the village, Uchiha clan must be destroyed...
Then, to make sure that the responsibility for the massacre of the Uchiha clan did not fall into Konoha's hands, the actual murderer Itachi, could not be killed either.
Tainted by the fate of the survival of the Uchiha's blood, he placed this matter into his own younger brother's hands

To the outsiders...
What follows after that must be recorded
It's concluded to be the best plan to ensure that peace prevails thereafter.
Not allowed to survive.
Suicide is not an option
You have to...
let the brother that you love end your life...
This is what Konoha wants and it must be carried out no matter what...
The mission that was imposed on Itachi
was to be killed by you...
This was the mission that Itachi was given.
For the sake of Konoha, he went against his clan and carried a burden that would crush normal people.

Itachi carries a stain in his name till the day he dies.
The future generation will continue to speak of Itachi
in Konoha, he will be known as a missing nin who knew not shame...
in other villages, a murderer who killed his clan...
he will forever be recorded in the Shinobi world as a criminal
he will not be understood by anyone...

realized their mistake and ran away, hoping someone like you wouldnt bring it up anymore so they can come back and post again.

Itachi decided to put the stability of the village as priority, considering the past experience. He decided to work as double spy, transfering information, which led to the decision of the destruction of the clan. The only condition was to not harm his younger brother [Sasuke]. Credits Alterno

I'm hoping the backstory continues, to be honest. I'd love to see how it all ties together, if you know what I mean. Then again, I wouldn't mind getting back to Naruto and the others, either.

Sasuke's gonna need even more therapy now he has to deal with the fact that his brother was ordered by his village to kill his family and his brother lost his life fighting him and we thought Sasuke was Emo before

So he had no choice but obliterating the clan

The Third tried to compromise, but there was no time before that night

Becoming a missing-nin was also his instructions

But Itachi made one mistake

I seems that from the beginning, Itachi intended to die and leave his powers to Sasuke

The one who came up with this strategy was probably Danzou. That's why, before leaving the village, he told Danzou that if he laid a finger on Sasuke, he would tell other countries about this, and they would destroy Konoha

As for Madara, far from leading the revenge, he gave the condition that they would be annihilated

The leader of the coup d'etat was Sasuke's father

So far, my favourite spoiler had Itachi getting angry and gaining the MS. Specifically, Itachi was accused of a crime he did not commit, and ended up being so angry over it that he developed the MS (I can just imagine Itachi saying "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry" ). Truly crazy.

Prolly realized that Madara's face is wrinkley and old (from what little we saw) and realized that Obito would obviously be much less older looking, but more smashed up.
