I was really *facepalm*through this episode. Seriously, I think Haruka is cute. But this episode she was …nuts, or something.
Geez. Embarrassing episode. Spoiler for episode 3:
Now I'm afraid of the next episode. I expect nothing more than a filler. Sad.

But is there a problem to be solved? I really thought this would be presented in 3rd episode. I can't imagine what to focus on seriously. I just want to conclude if Haruka is really crazy.

I have just watched the third episode of this show. All I can say (or do) is facepalm
I had to keep pausing in order to not choke on my bagle. Especially the licking scene. That was just.. Also, I can't wait for this arc to end. Haruka's so annoying. It just kills me (probably from embarassment) to see Junichi act like that with her. But I still love this show. |

You may say that you should not expect realism from an anime, but the whole production screams realism. This is not a pink-hair anime. People are drawn mostly realistic, although some characters look like they may have European ancestry. Mostly though, it looks like ordinary Japanese slice of life. No pink or blue hair, no psychic auras, magic, aliens, robots or catgirls, not even the customary fanservice that seem to be everywhere these days. It looked like a welcome respite from the nekomimi and pantsu. And it is. Apart from the small detail that the characters do things you would normally only have done while drunk, and they do it at school.
That said, some of my best friends are "furries". That's how I got my avatar after all. A cute girl drew it for me after some role playing sessions. ^_^ Still, I had not expected the woof and meow in this anime. I find myself imagining the next episode: "Please, Morishima-sempai, if it is OK with you, please please let me sniff your butt." I am not sure what this guy considers a "good ending", but a normal Christmas date as he originally aimed for seems to be a kind of anticlimax by now. |

After having more time to digest the episode, this is where I feel the biggest problem lies. Two people who barely know each other acting this way is a bit hard to swallow, with a bit more build up this ep might actually have been quite fun but with only 4eps/girl it was always going to be a struggle not to feel rushed. |

I think, despite the antics in episode 3, Haruka is still acting in character. It has been established early on that she has an interest in him and is not afraid of physical contact. Also, she does seem to like persistence, with way she responded to the question about being proposed to more than once. Also from the dialog up until this episode, it does seem she likes things to be out of the ordinary and spontaneous.
While it may be slightly rushed due to the limited number of episodes, I can certainly see the episode 3 antics as a natural progression. Plus I give props to Junichi for picking up on the hints and being persistent. I think given the title of Amagami - Gentle Bite, a little playful kinkiness is part of the show.

Maybe she is actually insecure, it's entirely possible, but then why all the flirting at the start? Is she actively seeking a partner or is she really just ignorant of the consequences? The former makes sense, but the latter is hinted towards, which makes the whole situation bizarre. She's in her final year of high school and she's popular to boot. Seeing her act with a mind of a twelve year-old is a bit hard to swallow. |

Honestly, I wasn't gonna watch this at all before I heard about the crazy stuff that went down in episode 3. Regardless of whether it's realistic or not, this had me rolling on the floor after the bland, generic first episode and lukewarm second episode. Episode 3 was epic win, but I really have to wonder if they can come up with something to top all that. (And no, I'm not fishing for spoilers from the game).

Let's just be glad that this series can't possibly pull any Everybody's Makoto/School Days endings.
