Correct, it's not like she can jump into any MS and kick-ass. And let's be honest, even in Seed, Cagalie was never really an awesome pilot. Finally the ball is rolling.

Though it may be too much to ask for even slight story changes.

At the very least they'll add in the Special Edition stuff so the Shinn x Lunamaria romance wont be as sudden as it was in the TV version with very little lead up.

Right, watched it now. I didn't notice anything different from the original honestly, but it was still a fun episode anyway. That fight with the stolen Gundams is always a fun watch for me.

After re-watcing seed I know why i didn't like her in eps 1...
in eps 19(18 HD) she have kira as her guard
just like destiny (with Athrun) Kira jump to protect her + she hide behind him + done nothing
but the different was simple

In Seed she have more emotion ( angry, sad, look aggressive..etc > which make you feel as if she was doing something even though she wasn't)

In destiny she look out of place/scared >>> you don't act like idiot/daydreaming in middle of war zone for god sake
(make you feel as if she was just dead weight )

They have a point. In Seed she was confident and headstrong. In Destiny's she's meek, scared, and looking for either her big brother or her love interest to protect and help her.

It's mostly later on with Kira. Since it's known that they are siblings from the start here, they went full out with the meek sister needing to be protected by her big strong aloof older brother archetypes that Japan loves oh so much.

And despite what people claim, there's no reason being a politican should make Cagalli like that. If anything it should make her colder, and hardened, not tearful and meek. They simply embraced a popular stereotype.

It's not just about being a politician, it's about having to deal with her own countrymen.

Recall her conversation with Athrun in the cave in SEED where she acknowledged Orb's fault in building the G-Weapons, but how, in the end, Orb was still her country and her people.

Her confidence in SEED was against outsiders, especially those who are attacking Orb. And you see that same confidence in Destiny after Takemikazuchi sank, when Cagalli is no longer in opposition to Orb soldiers.

According to Cagalli in SEED, Kira is her little brother.
