ok..i had enough of the 4 dan lobbies...
finished break even for today but feels like the premium guys keep getting the hands after playing a few games.

80% of the hands i played defensively and kept getting shitty hands!
going back to my other accounts

pfft..looks like i'm going to go into hiatus for a while.
just dropped 40 rating points on my new account from 1888 to 1848 and it's becoming more obvious tenhou doesn't want any non-premium guys to hit 1900 rating.

happened twice already. i'd probably spend the time just to cheat the system than to grind it.

Yeah; I was doing great until I reached 4 Dan and a high R, then suddenly my luck just plummeted.

I don't feel lucky enough to win in 4P, so that's why I've been doing 3P lately.

That's not a hard decision, though, IMO. Discarding the 7-pin. Don't move away from tenpai, safe tile. Easy game.

i had to throw my hand away..it was tempting to keep playing the hand. i was at 1 shanten a few turns later but it would result for me to throw away the 3 sou. tenhou kept pushing me to toss that tile out.

the guy to the left ended up tossing out the 6 sou and i barely won the game by 500 points.

Hah, wtf. This is getting really stupid; I can't even reach tenpai. I think I'll play blindfolded or something. Not like it matters. They have been finding pretty creative ways to make me lose though.

Didn't realize there was a japanese mahjong topic on the board until this morning, just read the entire topic. Nice to know there's people I can chat with about it now.

I've been mostly playing the Touhou Mahjong game for the past couple months. I'll start to consider playing on Tenhou once I can tell the difference between all the character tiles. :P

Finally got into Kokushi Musou tenpai, yesterday. Was waiting on the 1-pin, and only one had been discarded. The guy to my left had already declared Riichi when I got into it, and the game ended in a draw. Turns out the guy that declared riichi had the 3 remaining 1-pin in his hand...

Hmm... the 6 is suji for the 3 and 9 pin so if I wanted to play it safe I'd discard that. You could also be a litle more aggressive and go for the win with the 7 pin which is as safe as any of your other discards bar the 6 pin. It's worrying that ater he finished discarding all his terminal tiles he didn't discard any single pin till his hand already looked organized, but it's not like you have any alternative. After calling twice you don't have a lot of liberty anyway so I'd just test my luck.

6 pin probably, it's almost over and every other tile in the hand is extremely dangerous.
