CC definitely has countless options from the vast number of gaseous compounds, it just depends on how far Oda has researched and the choices he makes. Even just the elements itself could do lots of stuff, I can see CC disabling Luffy just by pumping him full of Helium and floating him off into the sky.
Chemistry in manga is always interesting, like Aqua Regia was used by Coco in Toriko.

Yeah metamorpho, he has cool logia-like powers. Not just one but multiple of them. He's strong and undestructable(I think he is the strongest in outsiders), the only thing that I dont like about him is his custom.

CC's power is ominous indeed and there is merely nothing you can do even as a haki user once the air is poisoned. But hey that's why we've got that samurai who has the ability to provide oxygen masks out of nowhere, so that's probably the main reason why a magic based DF user was introduced in this arc beside offering warm clothes. It's true that Luffy is immune to most poison based attacks, but he still needs to breath, so CC definitely is a serious threat once he fills the battlefield with nothing but toxic gas. That could also explain why Law had to temporarily cooperate with CC, even if against his own will, because he possibly already lost once to CC and his crew is taken hostage.
