I'm STILL waiting on Mizushima's explanation regarding all-women Senshado, tanks and World War two, which I don't need to remind everyone featured famous melees like Arracourt, Kursk, and even El Alamein. Hopefully the next pages clear things up on that regard.

We've gotten the long past of why women in military sports before, but never anything on "why tanks?" and what lead to that in the 20th century. Especially with Yukari, the History Club and Pravda making references to World War II campaigns and personalities.

Well considering that "Kelly's Heroes" was made, one can assume that the other counties followed suit, if that was the case.
Yet the Panzer IV manual has a woman on it instead of a man like the historical Tiger manual.

Could be that in the beginning only women were used (Fall Weiss), which changed when Hitler began putting men into the machines latter in the war. |

Unless somehow World War II was a massive sporting event starting with the 1932 Olympics for Japan and China and moving on to the 1936 Olympics with Germany and others. The 1938 Winter Olympics had more counties take up the sport with Spain, Czechoslovakia and the Soviets joining in, and finally heading to full levels in the 1940 and 1944 Olympics where the whole world got into the spirit of things.
Plus the Winter Olympics of 1942 really hammer the German spirit against the Soviets on the Stalingrad arena. The 1934 Winter Olympics were kind of dull though as it was still just Japan and China doing Senshado. Type 89s vs. FT17s, Panzer Is, and various tankettes.

You mean the first two screenshots? She looks fine to me for the most part. Maybe she overslept, didn't eat well, etc.. Maybe she's even faking illness (since Saori looks one smiling).

OVA 3 PV:
So yeah, the entire bridge crew of the ship is made up of high schoolers. Also, Mako doesn't appear to be comfortable with heights or something.

As for WWII, it probably looked like our own, with perhaps a higher percentage of female tankers. Tankery is an expensive sport (note how few schools are in this tournament) and I suspect that not that many girls are in it total even countrywide. As the war starts that pool will quickly dry and then the next picks will be the ones with automobile or industrial experience. Since the world except for female Tankery and huge schoolships is similar to our own, we may suspect such people would mostly be ... male. === Oh, does anyone know where I can find the other comics of this series: Last edited by arkhangelsk; 2013-03-09 at 15:51. |
