Angel Beats is a comedy with some drama.

Bakuman is a comedy about 2 guys who want to become professional mangakas. Has 2 seasons so far and 3rd is on its way.

Did you watch Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu? Pure comedy.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama - comedy/romance

Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai - MC loves to play dating video games and has no interest in real world. However, one day he accidentally signs a contrac with acute demon and now has to date girls for real.
It is much better than it sounds.

The Idolm@ster is slightly similar to K-ON. Series are about group of girls who want to become idols. Is mostly episodic and gets better as it progresses. 1st episode was done game like.

I'll suggest Oh! Edo Rocket, a science-fiction comedy set in 1843-44 Japan at a time when entertainment was banned. It was originally a stage play and is often quite hilarious. The plot centers on Tamaya Seikichi, a fireworks maker who cannot pursue his craft because of the ban. One day a mysterious young woman asks him to build her a firework that can reach the moon.

The just-completed series AKB0048, a spin-off based on the Japanese idol singing group AKB48, explores the same anti-entertainment themes. Cute girls sing, dance, and conduct guerrilla concerts across the galaxy fighting the forces of oppression.

Another vote for Level E.

I would recommend freezing. It's not very funny but the all around awesomeness of it makes you forget that. It's got a good plot, good character developement, and if your into those kind of "the main character doesn't know he has power but ends up showing everyone that he's really badass, but not on purpose" anime this one is really good in that too haha :P
