There's a rumour that's been going around in these past days claiming that Square-Enix will also be releasing FF13 on PC as well, considering that its developing toolset already runs on PC, being a multiplatform title.

I can confirm that is not true;

Just to clear up any confusion, recently a lot of people have mistaken a statement on the development cycle of Final Fantasy XIII as "FFXII for PC".

Square-Enix have stated that Final Fantasy XIII will be developed using Crystal Tools on a PC for Playstation 3, then Xbox 360. This comment was mistaken as "Final Fantasy XIII is being developed for PC."

Square Enix have recently said that they have no such plans to release Final Fantasy XIII for PC after being contacted by VG247.

That trailer isn't even the most recent version. Jump Festa's had additional characters and scenes. If they show something at the event, it won't be this trailer.

It hasn't been leaked. There are only magazine scans from the last media blitz.

final fantasy just takes longer and longer from sequeal to sequeal (same applies to the other newer games), i miss the good old days where 1 ff for 1 or 2 yrs.

That's technically correct since they're taking into account worldwide timing.

FFXIII will be exclusive to the PS3 during the window between the Japanese (PS3) and American (PS3, X360) launches. However, if we were to consider the English-speaking world alone, there's no period of exclusivity.

Okay, I can rest easy now; my PS3 version probably won't have to wait for the 360 version.

Then again, I might probably get the 360 version as well if I really like FF13, because we all know that's bound to have extras not found in the earlier PS3 version.

I should've elaborated it. The article said FFX13 is supposed to come out around 2010 or 2011. It's an overkill. =/

That's the speculated release of the 360 version IIRC, since it would come later than the english PS3 version. AFAIK, most people speculate that FF13 would be released in JP early '09 and should be available in English for the PS3 in time for the holiday season.

So yeah, if you have a PS3, you're in luck. If only the 360, then that's going to be a long wait as most people speculate.

Key word here though: speculation. XD
