I do not know if this has been posted before, but anyway...

Who is your most hated male and female characters in an anime?
It can be for any reason at all.

Mine are:

Male:
Griffith - Berserk
Ikari Gendo - Evangelion
Urashima Keitaro - Love Hina

Female:
Azusagawa Yukino - Yakitate! Japan
Ryusaki Sakuno - Prince of Tennis.
Narusegawa Naru - Love Hina

Hmmm....can't really say. I don't think there's ever been an anime character that I've actually hated. There have been characters I thought were stupid and such, but hate would be a strong word for me.

Yamase [Maburaho] (she gets the prize in my book for the first character that manages to go from my favorite one in the series to the most hated one in (less than) one episode

I don't know, hmmm..

I hate Sasuke's a$$ from Naruto for obvious reasons...He's one of the few characters in anime I can say I hate with no qualms...

Renton from Eureka SeVen comes close for me (I can only take so much depressing emo), but I guess I don't hate him...

Mitsuki from KGNE (More eternal dislike than pure hate though, but certain moments it comes really close to sheer hate)...

Clyne faction from GSD - Hate their arrogant ways, not all of them individually...

Dr. Gero from DBZ - Hate that hater...was quite happy to see his a$$ pwned by Android 17 and 18...

Can't think of anymore right now...

MALE Definately has to be Shinji from Eva . His Am I doing the right thing is muchos irritating . Also Sauckay from Naruto he always pissed off for no reason other than being emo whiney and angsty

To me Griffith was really cool

FEMALE Momo and Orihime from Bleach and Sakura from Naruto . Both epitomize retarded Fangirl ism

I REALLY HATE ummmmmm wats her name ummmmm that blue haired girl from Kimi ga nozumi eien(i think this is how u spell it). Kanon's main character in the beginning. Konohamaru from Naruto hes really on my nerves.

Hey, i'm new here too. But really, this is just a thread to share similarities or just be plain curious about the likes/hates of others (or so I am thinking).
Anyhow:
Sakura from Naruto- Doesn't do jack until waaay later in the series.
Shinji from Eva- Just like everyone else's reason, he's just too damn EMO.
Hajime from Jigoku Shoujo- MY GOD, this guy just does not understand ANYONE'S feelings and goes around being selfish as HELL.
No more that I can think of.

Ugh definately Nanami from Soul Link. Her voice was just so damn freakin annoying. That and the fact that she was spouting crap for most of the season, and her degenerating from one of my favorite characters in Soul Link to one of my most hated anime characters in less than 1 episode. The first time I saw her in the OP I thought her char design was pretty cute and when she finally did appear her annoying voice just annoyed the hell out of me. And the questions she asked were equally annoying. I don't think I've ever hated an anime character (or the entire anime Soul Link for that mattar) this much.

For male characters, probably Sasake from Naruto (angsty emo boy who whines even more than Naruto but tries to act cool and such, ugh) or maybe Shirou from F/SN. Fortunately Shirou became slightly more likeable in the end (as opposed to when he was spouting all that idealistic crap in the start) but I secretly wish that dragon had just ate him up :P I also used to hate Jun from Rozen Maiden but in the end his character developed so much I can't say that I even dislike him now. He's one of those characters that managed to evolve from a wimpy hikki to a caring individual. But his earlier antics still annoy me sometimes.

Hmmm, there are characters that annoy me (like the goth-lolis in YNSH) but I usually reserve "hate" for incompetent writers who take great character designs and completely waste them in lousy, contrived, plothole ridden, OOC stories.

I'd have to agree with Vexx's sentiments there. However, there is a certain type of character that really rubs me up the wrong way, and that's those damned irritating psycho characters who are bad for no good reason, and in particular the ones who have that oh-so-annoying condescending laugh.

Now don't get me wrong, I like a psycho-deranged villain if done correctly, and generally I like them to have an equally deranged and maniacal laugh. Psycho villains with that annoying laugh seem to be a very specific Japanese Anime thing though.

I also detest good characters who are ruined by that laugh, such as Suigintou; she's a good character that I like, but I can't bear to keep the sound up while watching her because of the laugh.

Meh, suffice to say there are plenty of characters I really don't like, since there are way too many characters that fall into this category.
