I fell in love with this series after the first 3 episosed. Finally a more mature show with a great atmosphere. Great animation, very realistic and the cinemagraphy is amazing aswell.

The atmosphere and animation reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin: Reminisence, I have high hopes for this one, can't wait for more!

So, I just watched the supposed final episode...

Are we sure 12 was the last one, because if so... episode 1 is never resolved.

bump for a very interesting anime. Watched first 4 eps, it's really good so far.

One of the most surreal anime if aesthetics is the only guideline. I'm still amazed on the look of the anime, especially shocking moments like the dojo master who's mentally unstable one moment, perfectly sane the next.

Just caught up to episode 6. What can I say? Atmospheric, deadly serious, brooding, disturbing, chilling, moreso than anything else I've seen this year by a long way. But, most importantly, totally engrossing. I can't look away.

So intense and chilling, yet such a well crafted story as well. We desperately need more subs, that's for sure.

They kill and molest everyone and everything in this show. I wish the fansubbers did a more consistent and quick job.

Saizen is a pretty good group, but they literally take a month to release ONE episode.

I finished timing this show the first week of October. Sometimes, you have individuals slowing down the progress, however, this individual has started working again, so we're trying to finish this serie this year.

Wow - saw episode 8 and its great to see the other dojo masters fight. Yeah the relationship between that one master and the kid was twisted.

What I am trying to figure out is how on earth Fujiki lost his arm. We know how Irako became disfigured/disabled but who is strong enough to do that to Fujiki except for Kogan himself.

Ok, after seeing episode seven, I have a question:

Spoiler for scene:

Given what's happened thus far, Shigurui has to be the most confusing anime I've ever seen...yet I keep watching.

Cool. At least you guys are doing it unlike a lot of half-finished subbers who basically dropped off the face of the Earth.

I didn't think I'd enjoy Shigurui as much as I did, albeit with the semi-sickened state of watching something gruesome and crazy.

I don't think they can possibly do a live conversion of this story, ever.

Come on, it's obvious. Only Seigen could pick off a kougan-ryu swordsman.

This show is pure fanservice. Violence and tits abound!

I can't understand why it's not more popular.

That's what I think.

Because it's slow and it requires a long attention span. And I don't think this caliber of violence can be called fanservice. It's too raw and grotesque. The type of anime violence that tends appeals to LCD is the low-brow stuff like explosions and gun play.

To put it bluntly, this show is too artistic to be fanservice. It's obvious that mass appeal wasn't the intention right from the start. The intention, I think, was to be shocking. I'd say they're doing ok in that department.

The stance that mystery murder uses is also very similar to the one Seigen uses in episode one.

I really like this Anime, both storywise and artistically.
While i think the Stroy is not something entirely new i just like the way how it is portrayed. The violence never seems to be too excessive for my opinion and suits the undertone just well.

However, i have a little offtopic question:
Could you maybe send me an pm or write in this thread wich animes of the year 2007 (except Darker Than Black + Death Note) that are quite enjoyable and are more suited for matures. Because i have no clue and it seems there are so much. I dont like this clichee Mecha-Action or something like this. I just thought people who like this show share a bit of my taste.

Anxiously awaiting episode 9. At times watching this is like seeing a bad wreck on the highway, but I am hooked on this show!

Yeah, Saizen have been extremely slow lately, as a member of the group I know we haven't worked 5-6 hours a day fansubbing all december, not at all:
