Finished Kamigakari no Cross Heart. The epilogue route had a nice twist in the beginning and obviously more event-packed than the other routes. I'm still surprised that Chinatsu's end didn't end with them being together as with Suzukaze's true end. The last twist towards the happy end was kinda rushed, but that's not too bad as I love my happy ends.
Personal conclusion: Kamigakari's strong forte is obviously the characters because most routes don't really have a (interesting) story to boot. I liked Shougo as MC because while being a bit dense at times he openly admitted a few times that he's an idiot Mahou's favorite route/character order: Anzu > Chinatsu > Koneko = Sana > Hijiri > Ome. Ome's route could have been sweeter, but had a few stupid elements in it. Her character was still quite likeable. Deredere-Koneko is vastly superior to the b!tchy-Koneko *shakes fist*. The transition of osananajimi to couple in Anzu's route was pretty much drama free despite the donkan factor in it. A few other VNs should take it as an example that you don't need an ridiciously amount of drama/negative awkwardness/uneasyness to make it happen @Hoshikaka: I agree with Micchi that Madoka's route was the best. And while I also enjoyed Ui's chara herself, her route had its stupid parts which dampened the fun from the bits I can still remember.

I have tried the trial of "Naka no Hito nado Inai" and my first reaction was
The basic premise from what i can understand is that the main character Koutaro while applying for a new part time job ended up being recruited by a small secret "evil " organization called BO group that is fighting the Tokyo hero group (THP) . While the story may sound seriously, it's not. It's pretty silly and most likely a parody of the regular super hero and tokusatsu genre. Especially if your main character looks like this in his suit This is what I get by blindly picking eroge based on seiyuu preferences (like Shimizu Ai, Kadowaki Mai and Atsumi Tanezaki better known as Kiritani Hana for eroge players ) XD Last edited by hyl; 2012-07-26 at 20:20. Started reading Sousei Kitan Aerial. It's been a while since the last Mecha VN and this is good stuff so far. The point about humanity's desperate situation comes across rather well and the SPOOK are a pretty mean alien threat. There is a shitload of infodumping at the beginning though, I think learned more about Jet-Fighters in the first chapter than I really care to know.
Also, that H-scene with Shuu and Kawashima -sensei was hilarious. That read like something out of an American hardcore porno. |

Pallete's merchandise for comiket 82.
http://www.clearrave.co.jp/event.html I will be getting the Mashiro iro Symphony visual fanbook (which was announced on the 2nd livestream) for my collection Unfortunately Pallete's 3rd livestream on nico nico douga (that aired a few hours ago) was primarily meant to promote their merchandise. I was actually hoping on more information on "Koi ga saku koro sakura doki" Comiket will be eating more of my money, seeing that i will be getting the Hatsuyuki Sakura drama cd as well. The main character Hatsuyuki is voiced by Taniyama Kisho (under a pseudonym, in fact every seiyuu in this drama cd uses their pseudonym) and he doesn't that bad based on the small clips that you can find on the website. edit: speaking about drama cd's, Dracu-Riot is also getting a drama cd next month (which flew under my radar, because i never followed Yuzusoft's twitterpage up untill now and their main page is hardly ever updated). Oh also an Elina themed laptop http://www.digi-tsuhan.jp/shop/dracuriot_pc/ made by the same company who also made the Inui Sana themed laptops some time ago. Besides the girl with the biggest assets in the game also happens to be the tsundere. How often does that happen? It's just icing to the cake that she also happens to be a hilariously outrageous closet perv.

i'm currently playing hoshimemo... i'm at yume's route now... only mare is remaining. i like the story.. but at places it becomes too much......so i skip a few steps :P
next up downhill nights 1 & 2, then da capo 1 & 2, edelweiss 1+2, kira kira, koihime musou, shuffle and shera my witch. maybe i will do monmusu quest 1&2 again......and i still have school days to be finished..... and i am learning japanese so i will not be tied by translations... this is because i wanna play hoshikaka and koi to senkyo and sonicomi as soon as possible. And some new titles also piqued my interest and i am not willing to wait 2-3 years for a translation..

After maybe a year of on-again, off-again, I finally completed every single route, unlocked every single CG of KimiKiss. Helped a lot that I at least somewhat liked all the girls, so it wasn't too painful. Still, there were frustrating moments as meeting girls is somewhat random. Save scumming required because I couldn't meet up with the girl I want, enough times during a week, in order to advance her plot.
I've now (re)started Galaxy Angel II Mugen Kairou no Kagi. I've completed Majoram's route before, but too long ago and I can't remember the events. Now on Apricot's route, then, depending on my mood, may opt to replay Majoram's before moving on to the 3rd installment. (Don't care about the other girls, so can't be bothered to enter their routes.) |

If you can, you should try at least the alternate scenario for Zettai Ryouiki no Tobira in the other disc. Is completely hilarious.

Finished Owaru Sekai to Birthday. I really liked it, the pacing was well done and the story went along at a nice clip. I couldn't put down the game as I'm always looking forward to what's going to happen next. Each route was different in its own way, but were still important to the overall plot. Definitely play until the very end! And enter your own birthday when you start playing!
I wish for more Misaki though. An omake isn't enough for me...

None of the recently released VNs picked my curiosity, actually. Either too dark for my fragile self () or too "meh" from the overview. So I tried Aries' Angel Navigate for no real reason. And while it must sound like a broken record, it has a horrible /facepalm-making protagonist. I'm actually fine with a MC who's uneasy in talking with the opposite gender, but the VNs which used this or a similar concept just haven't executed it that well unfortunately. Anyway, that MC is as good as completely useless: Bad sense of direction, cannot cook, can easily make a brick of wood apppear like a genius, uneasy with the opposite gender except for his osananajimi and imouto (this trait is *not* bad by itself!) and also unskilled with computers .
I have also another hook-soft title to try, but despite its sugary-sweet other titles hooksoft should really try to make the protagonists somewhat less boring *glares at Strawbeery Nauts*. /back to some normal RPGs à la Growlanser 1 + 4

The trial for Hooksoft's Lovely Quest has been out for a day now. Lot's of things felt pretty generic to me, especially everything in the prologue which serves as an introduction to all the main heroines. The story later was slightly better (because the main character is trying to get closer to one of the girls) but i didn't think it was that special.
The things i liked were the heroines except the overly prone to blushing Osananajimi Hami. (my favorite being the teasing Iroha) I also liked the great seiyuu cast such as Shimizu Ai, Mayumi Yoshida, Yukito Saori and Sakuno Airi (aka Hoshizaki Iria for roles like Mizuki in Hareten or Sakuya in HatsuSaku ). The opening song is also stuck in my head after seeing it today. While i wasn't impressed by the story or settings i might try the full version because of the characters, unless there is an eroge or VN coming out in september that peaks my interest more. I also finished the trial for Lovely Quest earlier today. I think this game is basically a cross between SuGirly Wish and HoneyComing -- the former for the general feel and presentation, and the latter for the central plot element. Except unlike HoneyComing, where the Romance Lessons were part of the general curriculum, here it's a sort of side-club that's part of an experiment. I think the net effect is generally the same, except they're not in a classroom with everyone else at the time (generally speaking), so in some ways it won't be quite as lively (but it'll likely be more intimate).
The one thing that struck me as a bit funny is that they introduced a time-limited decision system in the game, but they give you ample warning before it comes up. I sure wish I had a "major decision incoming!" warning in real life! The timing of each decision has an impact, and sometimes it's not just a matter of being quick -- you have to consider the implication of the choice. So it's not much, but it's an interesting little quirk. I'd say that I wouldn't recommend this game if you were a Hooksoft newbie (HoneyComing is still their best work, IMO), but I think it'll feel right at home for long-time brand fans. (And, actually, I did like Hami. She reminds me a fair bit of Asahi from HoneyComing, but has the voice of Kotori from Pulltop's latest work (that I also liked -- need to write about that).)

Honey Coming could indeed be hook-soft's "best" title. The love lesson idea itself has been quite fun and the main with his dislike for all love-related stuff has also been not too bad idea-wise. In contrast to Sugirly Wish where only ~ 2 routes were well enough for my taste and Strawberry Nauts whose MC was way beyond the average donkan level .
Anyway, did anyone play Tomodachi ijou koibito miman? Based on the walkthrough it's picked with a true route and a handful other normal ends.

Finished Apricot's and Majoram's (selected sections) route in Galaxy Angel II Mugen Kairou no Kagi. I remembered why I gave this such a long break in the past. I think my IQ has suffered damage. Or maybe I'm just embarrassed to be playing Shiranami. GAII series seems a bit childish, something which I didn't feel when playing GA. I'm reminded of how I felt about Sakura Taisen 5 in comparison to its predecessors.
Anyway, I've now got absolutely no interest to even try to clear the other characters. Quote:
Daibanchou is a whole different story. I've cleared 4 of the 5 heroines. On turn 50+ of my 5th playthrough, and I'm absolutely sick of trying to conquer Japan again! Actually, I was already quite bored/frustrated with it on the 3rd go-round. But I shall persevere! I vow to finish Daibanchou this weekend, before getting back to the last installment of GAII. Or maybe I'll try and progress a little further in Moe Moe Daisensou. Mecha musume + clothing damage = . However, too many characters and frequent time-skips make it difficult to connect with the characters. I start to get a feel for a few of them, and then they get put on a bus. This aspect makes the game less interesting. |

Seems I'm the only one who liked more the 2nd series of GA than the 1st one. The very first one was nice, but ML and EL were both in the badish side of things. In contrast, in GAII the villains seem more of a menace.
And even if the battles are a breeze, you still have to go through the whole story just to see maybe one hour of new content.
