This might be the first time ever where I will compliment on Kyoani perv because normally it's a joke I tend to use on how not to do it .
Well done Kyoani, you made a non-moeblob character (design wise) for once. Now hopefully the personality matches. |

-------------------------------------------------- On a side note, all of this marketing campaign so far has been misleading. People who're looking in to those things (FS, harem, grills, ect) will be disappointed but people who're into "heavy-handled stories" will avoid it (fanservice-y, moblob-ish, CGDCT-ism, ect). But oh well, ignorance is a bliss, isn't it? |

Even if a source material has an established character design done by an illustrator, it arguably doesn't deny any credit to the actual character designer of the anime studio, exactly because their job is to capture the essence of the original design while still matching the anime medium and constraints.
So I see no reason to dismiss a compliment done to a studio regarding a specific chara design, even moreso if the original illustrator didn't do it themselves.

The design of that girl eating the snacks is the worst of all. Ugh...
Anyway, I think I'm most partial to the swimsuit scan so far. A rarity for me, but I'm big on the way hair is drawn in any character art. It looked very pretty there. c:
