I've tried watching a few gundam shows the only ones i liked/were captivating enough to complete were 8th MS Team and Gundam 00.
Guess it's not really my thing x) I'm thinking of trying the Z Gundam movies since the series look too oldschool for me.

You won't get much from the way the movies are edited. You'd have to watch the whole series in order to properly understand the events and reasoning behind them. Zeta is a pretty good Gundam series and one of the few that do not get old even if you watch them for the second or third time. Tomino'ish at times which can be a turn off for some people.

Favorites are 08th MS Team and Gundam Wing, 08th MS team had a sense of realism to it that made it special, the Gundams would engage Zakus they would have a hard time taking down even one if the pilot was good and i liked that sense of scaled down fighting, Gundam Wing was the first gundam series i ever saw so it has a special place in my heart

The only shows I've actually enjoyed are 00, Wing and 08:th MS Team
I've tried watching some other shows like Turn A, Seed, Z and After War X but I didn't particularly enjoy any of them (the only one I could actually finish was Seed but that was just because it was the first whole anime show I've watched). Note: I wouldn't really count Unicorn as it's practically just a manga series with a couple of TV movies based on it (with only one released so far). |

I dunno, Shiro survives some pretty crazy stuff (stranded on a spaceshipwreck with the enemy, stuck in the middle of the mountains with same person, managing to not get GM-sniped in the face, etc), and Aina has a definite plot armor moment with the whole "jewelry is like extra armor" moment.

What Gundam series doesn't have plot armor though? And please don't say Zeta because everyone dying at the end was part of the plan.

I watched Zeta, Char's Counter Attack, Stardust Memories, Wing, SEED, SEED Destiny, and 00. They are all epic!
Trivia: Zeta: Most of the main characters died! Camille turned insane CC: Amuro vs Char is so epic! SM: Dendrobium Orchis O____O Wing: Heero is a natural born terrorist. He blew Wing up while he was still there SEED: Everyone desperately fight for their lives after ZAFT and EFSF crossfired nuclear weapons SEED Destiny: The battles are extremely great, even though most of the scenes are repetitive. Can't forget how Impulse owned Freedom, Destiny and Legend destroyed the Destroys, Archangel's legendary barrel roll that defeated Minerva, plus Infinite Justice beat Destiny in 1 on 1 battle! 00: Season 1.. kick-ass! Season 2.. not bad. Can't wait to watch the Movie! Last edited by paladinmsv; 2010-10-24 at 02:57. |

The only series (including OVA and movie) I haven't watched are Victory, G, and Turn A
I like all that I have watched, except seed-destiny...I don't really care the plot, but at least they should be aware of those repetitive battle scenes...one of big reasons ppl want to see gundam is because of the cool action scenes...I really feel the staff from seed-d didn't put enough effort there Now I have a feeling that unicorn will become my favorite series, but I will have to wait and see

After much thought and rewatches, I would now place After War Gundam X above G in my heart. Also the only episode I like within SEED and Destiny is Destiny episode 34. |
