I'd like to know if this game has actual AI. In the previous games the enemy units would attack yours when in range no matter what. It devolved the game into a routine of baiting the enemy unit with a strong character before finishing it off.

The AI tends to not overcommit unless they have toncrap of units.
Generally, they really try to gang bang a frail unit, and if they can kill it, they will aim for the kill. Hard mode and Lunatic can be extremely frustrating because any single wrong move immediately cost you a unit. And baiting, even with a Jeigan, is quite risky.

Which is one reason the Sorceror + Nosferatu wall works so well in this game. Quote:

And there is no need to make a wall. One single Sorceror (with a good support) can decimate the entire army. |

^ lol...yeah. my wallet is also screaming bloody tears. i wanted to try out Ni no Kuni before
this game, but i favor Fire Emblem Awakening over it. so i'll have to save some money and get Fire Emblem while passing on Ni no Kuni for a bit. i doubt i can dedicate my time to both game with the little limited time i have each days. oh well, Fire Emblem here i come!

Ahh Lunatic. The only place where random battles are harder than the regular battles (like Silver or Killer Weapons when story battles are still with Steel, and you only have access to iron XD). Even frigging DLC has like a quarter of the characters double attacking you.
Goddamit, where are the trash random encounters so I can grind half my party, especially that Donnel guy. Monday? I thought it was officially last Tuesday, as I got it last Wednesday.

I gave up on finding the physical copy and go ahead and bought me the digital version. Now, let's see who to begin with for my avatar. Too many decisions and I am thinking of starting as female avatar first and have her pair up with Chrom.

I almost did that, but on my first runs I prefer doing the hardest/most out of the way things first. So, while not playing Lunatic (wanted to get a better feel for the game first), I decided to pair Chrom up with Olivia, since she'd be the hardest to do so with. Still wanting to get Royal Weapon on Morgan, I decided I'd pair my Avatar up with Azure (only character whose localized name I hate).

Yeah, luckily I had decided to go to our local EB Games about 10-20 minutes after it opened in the morning.... to find out they had only gotten 1 copy of the game in.
Still find it odd that a Nintendo title is having a hard time finding it's way to the stores... I do wonder if it would've helped better to just have the release date a normal Tuesday.... or a regular Nintendo Sunday release day.
