There was a collectible in the hospital where it was stated that there were previously "immune" people that were experimented on, yet up till now no cure was found and they died for the experiment.

Considering that, and what Joel has been through his entire life, the last thing he wants is to lose the remaining family/friend in his life for something with a 0 success track record. Maybe is not good enough.

That would cheapen the ending. The collectibles I found indicated the opposite so I'm calling bull.

What made the ending so powerful is that Joel made the decision to save Ellie knowing full well he was possibly dooming humanity. He didn't do it because there a chance Ellie's sacrifice would be for naught. He did it because she's more important to him than the rest of humanity who has failed him so often. She's the only one that matters to him. He would have still done it even if there had been a 100% guarantee they would find a cure.

Even so, why exactly would they require to kill her in order to find a vaccine? Shouldn't they be able to study her blood samples or even the flesh samples of the infected/non-infected areas? Seems kinda strange that the experiment/procedure requires the killing of the specimen.

Its because the cordyceps fungi infection is in the brain. So they would have to extracted from there. Therefore killing the host in the process.

There are notes in the operating room if you kill all the doctors and look around first on the white boards that there were indeed some immune people. So Joel wasn't lying.

LOL this is the internet, things like "feminism" and "social justice"(I'm black so don't start, I know EXACTLY what I'm talking about) "work" in the internet, but you take a step outside in the real world and all that goes out the window. Taking it further, leave the country for a few years and you'll realize that there is none of that happening, Which can be good (in the case of feminism) and sometimes be not so good (social justice)

I was an RA in college and had to go to the social justice workshops once a week, and pretty much all they did was reminded me on how bad it is to be black. . .how"bad" we have it yeah it can suck sometimes but I never noticed it much and RARELY had any problems due to race. . .but going to those sessions made me feel like shit and angry(since I don't want to be"defined" like that) all to realize that once you step outside the classroom, all that "Sensitivity" bullshit goes out the window.

Same thing with feminism, once you get offline and into the real world (outside of a stuffy corporate office in the U.S.) feminism is pretty much a non-thing and pretty much everything the feminists tell you, is a huge lie.

so yeah, people don't even take people like that lady seriously. . .except for the same people who always try to argue stuff on you tube - you know they people who'll see a video about cats and start arguing about hitler or something.

Finally my copy arrived today. I've been playing it like crazy. Man, that intro alone is worth a score of ten. Atmosphere was superb. Already 5 hours in and I'm loving it. It's also nice to play on harder difficulty cuz' you really have to put your mind on the strategy then and have to search every corner for supplies in order to stay alive in intense fights. ^^
